Nearly 8 weeks

Been a minute. I guess I got caught up in the throes of summer. Maybe "throes" isn't the right word, as it's been a pretty decent one. Well, mostly. First half was pretty rain-filled. I swear for June and the first half of July it rained every day. EVERY DAY. At least for a little bit each day. Some days it rained all day. Lately it's been on the dry side, which is fine by me. But let's get caught up. My week-to-week has pretty much looked like this: Sunday-run, breakfast, clean up, sales, errands, chores, lunch, work, camp at the office; Monday-breakfast, ride into town, write for a few hours, thrift store, read for a few hours, work, home; Tuesday- (repeat of Sunday, minus camping at work); Wednesday-breakfast, chores, sales, fishing and lunch with dad, dinner with parents, watch movie or baseball game, home; Thursday- breakfast, fishing all day in kayak at some lake in the middle of nowhere, lunch and Tigers radio on the water, home for dinner, sales; Friday- (repeat of Sunday); Saturday- (repeat of Monday with visit to Kellee added in). Predictable? Mostly. But I like a routine. A few things change here and there. Sometimes I do different things on off days and some days I have no errands or chores so I do a bit more chilling or go for bike rides. But I feel like as a human being I function best when I get into a rhythm. Had two weeks that were markedly different though. The second week of July I went down to Ferndale for a few days. Went down Monday night after work, hung out all day Tuesday, Wed, Thurs and a little bit on Friday before going to Ashley's wedding up at Stony Creek. The wedding kind of sucked, but I was there to support my friend, so that's that. The couple days in Ferndale were great though. Got to hang with some friends. Didn't go anywhere crazy or do anything wild. But that's fine by me. Just going to peoples homes and visiting with them is great. Rita took me to Belle Isle since I haven't been there in years, but for the most part it was just chilling around Ferndale. Oh except when I went to see Ana at her house. Finally went there and saw it and met her dog. We had a good time visiting as well. After the wedding though, I didn't wanna drive all the way up to work or home. So I crashed at Ben's that night in A.H. and drove up to work Saturday during the day, stopping in Bay City to sell some junk to a sports memorabilia dealer. He kinda screwed me on the prices but whatever. I've made so much off the rest of the junk that even if I pretty much broke even on everything it's okay. Besides, since then I've been doing well online. Not eBay so much, but Depop. Depop has been very kind to me lately. Selling a ton of stuff in August and making a lot of profit off old items I've had a long time, which is great. Not so great though was getting sick last week. AWFUL. I haven't been that sick in nine and a half years. That was the last time I threw up and sadly that streak is now over. 95% sure that I caught norovirus at work due to cleaning up some lady's puke in the bathroom and the shower. I had no idea you can get a stomach bug from inhaling airborne particles from someone else's puke an hour or more after they've left the area. So that's something I will remember now. Lesson learned, but I wish I had learned it without having to pay the price. It was on a Tuesday. Felt fine that night and all the next day. Even felt fine Thursday morning. Rode into town and did a bunch of errands. Came back home and watched the Tigers game and had lunch. Felt iffy near the end and eventually laid down to rest. Woke up sweaty and sick and threw my guts up. I had the chills when I fell asleep. So that's a sign. Felt awful all night Thursday. Stomach was better but not perfect Friday morning. My back was killing me though. Felt like I fell backwards off a roof onto concrete. Woke up Saturday and felt pretty good, so I went back to work. Been fine since. Except my eyes. They seem to dry out and feel tired a weak a lot earlier in the evening than usual. Hopefully that is just a side effect of my body healing itself from the trauma of being so sick so suddenly. But nothing much else to talk about. Aunt and Uncle visited from SC two weeks ago. My washing machine broke for the third time in five years. Fixed it....AGAIN. We're going to be getting a new co-worker soon, so that will be interesting. Campground is shutting down after Labor Day, so we'll be doing some projects all fall. Kind of annoyed that I will lose my second shift pay for about six weeks but it is what it is. $333 less than normal, I figure. I'll have to make it up by snagging some sub jobs when I can. But my window for that will be smaller because I won't have any 3:30-midnight shifts that allow me to do double-duty. And I'm taking a week off to go to DC with the folks to visit my sis. I feel like we're caught up enough for now. All of a sudden today I had this weird allergy attack out of nowhere and it's driving me nuts. I gotta go. This sinus nonsense is too much right now. Stay humble, stay sober, stay focused y'all.
