The Microsoft Corporation: Not Giving A Fuck Since the 1980's.

I just spent around $110. Let me tell you why.

See, there's this company called Microsoft. This company manufactures this game system called an "XBox." Microsoft, in an attempt to save money, puts a low quality DVD-ROM(the drive that reads game data off game discs) in the XBox. This DVD-ROM breaks down and, in some cases, completely stops reading discs in anywhere from 2 months to several years, and more often happens after the manufacturer's warranty has expired.

Let me be very clear: this is an EXTREMELY COMMON PROBLEM. Many, many people have encountered this problem(including me), and have asked Microsoft for help. Microsoft spends 15 minutes listening to the problem, then says, "It sounds like your XBox needs to be repaired."

Thank you, Sherlock.

Microsoft then says, "ship it to (location) and pay us (anywhere from 70-100 US Dollars) and we'll fix it." Well, I've heard of a least a few cases where the person paid Microsoft to fix it, shipped it, got it back, and they hadn't done a single thing to fix it. These people have been playing XBox tag with Microsoft for months.

I just spend around $110. $80 for Microsoft to TRY to fix it. $22 to ship it to Kentucky. $12 for the packing. Hopefully, I'll have it back by November 12(it's November 5 now). Hopefully, it will work. Somehow, I doubt it.

DO NOT BUY AN XBOX-360! It'll just be a ticking time bomb, waiting for the warranty to expire before it stops working entirely. Do you really want to spend $400(which is what the wireless, backwards-compatible, harddrive-equipped version will cost) on a game system that may or may not work more than a year? I damn sure don't.
