vacant downtown in Oklahoma©2005 Ed Book I made this image on another trip across the country when I was driving my van pulling a large cargo trailer and took the time to stop to make photographs along the way. That trip was my last with film and almost none of that film has been scanned. Shortly after arriving home, the digital camera I had been waiting for became available and I shifted all my image captures to digital. i have the scanner I need to convert the Velvia film captures to digital but now the software I was using (or in this case, not using enough) is no longer compatible with my updated computer and operating system... But, on the bright side, the current software available for my scanner has improved incredibly and it might be a good thing that I delayed my scanning. The downside of the new software is the steep learning curve and user reports of the lack of adequate documentation and the cost of the software. It will be worth it but buying right now is impossible for me.
This image was made with a point-n-shoot 4MP Pentax camera I carried on that trip for blog posts and notes to go along with the film exposures. I really need to get on with converting my film archive to digital.
Peace
ps my image server that I used with all my old blog posts linked images is now defunct and although I have archived them all on my new server, the links in my LJ are all broken from that server. The images can be found though in this album:
