not now in the winter because it has a foot of snow which they'not too happy about. I've been feeding bale alfalfa, Corn/oats/barley, llama vigor, and alfalfa pellets.
I feed the llamas alfalfa because they're spoiled and won't eat grass hay which is timothy. They will eat the leaves but leave 95% (the stems) on the ground. They love alfalfa though and think it's llama candy. It's a little too high in protein for a mature llama but they supplement it with the grass they eat in the pasture. In the winter, I feed them llama vigor which is a mix of grains and includes some supplements that are lacking in our western Washington soil because they're leached out by our rains. (most significantly selenium). I also feed 'dry COB' which is a mix of corn oats and barley. The corn is to put a little fat on them so I don't feed it in the summer. 'dry' means that it doesn't have a molasses coating, which they don't like, but horses and some other animals love. Then, there's the alfalfa pellets that I add just to supplement what they're getting in the bale alfalfa... and they like it, so I use it as a reward for coming to me when I call. When I call, they come running although they run like old ladies

Glad the llamas are doing well. I remember they had problems with the snow before.
I was taking alfalfa pills when I was up there, because I started getting arthritis in my knees from the cold. It worked.
