An Opportunity of a Lifetime

Mar 05, 2009 10:21

When I looked back at the history of the Dow Jones Industrial, sometimes I wished that I had the opportunity to invest in the stock market when it was at it's bottom in the 1930's. Course, I also was glad I never had to live through the great depression either. I guess you have to be careful about what you wish for. I do believe though, that in crisis comes opportunity. And the opportunity of a life time is right here and now. For those nay sayers about China's growth over this next century, all I can say is you're a complete idiot if you believe that America will still be able to maintain it's glorious growth of past and that China will crumble just like Japan.

Definitely China will have a bumpy road in the beginning, but so did the US when it was young. They are still relatively new to this whole capitalism thing, but I think without a doubt they also have some of the most brilliant minds on the planet as well.

Apparently Warren Buffet thinks so too. Despite his oopsies in oil this past winter, his overall track record is solid and he is investing heavily into steel/oil industries in Asia. One of which is PKX, a Korean steel manufacturing company.

Anyhow, they say that many industries will hit bottom in the coming few years, not all at the same time. So to pick one date to say that we've hit bottom is foolish. Apparently, people believe we will rather bounce along the market bottom, some industries bottoming out sooner than others. Now there is chatter that oil is going to stage a comeback soon. They think 40-50 bucks a barrel is too low.

Hmm. We shall see.

I don't know about you guys, but I plan on making darn sure I have every possible resource I can think of to help me make the best possible portfolio ever! Even if that means I have to spend a lot of money to get that information.
Like they say, you don't have to be a smart to be successful. Just smart enough to surround yourself with people who are smarter than you! I totally believe that.

After all look at Bush!
