So there is trick-or-treating every year at the office where I work. Parents get their kids dressed up in costumes and bring them in between the hours of 3 and 5pm. Some employees have bowls of candy out so the kids can have some kind of trick-or-treat experience. In the past, I have not participated since I've never been much of a kid person, but I guess I'm softening up because this year I got some goodies to give out.
So the kids have been coming through, and I've been telling each one that I like his/her costume costume and let them take a little treat bag.
A few minutes ago, this little girl came in. I took one look at her and reeled. I thought, "how on earth could her parents let her dress as a pimp for halloween?!?!" My jaw dropped and I was rendered totally speechless. She was wearing a little black suit with pink pinstripes, a pink collared shirt with a tie, and a little pink and black leopard-print fedora. Only a pimp would put those together.
Then I looked down and noticed what the corner of my desk had originally obscured from my view; she was carrying a toy plastic tommy gun, and I realized she was supposed to be a gangster, not a pimp. I cracked a big ol' smile, and said, "I really like your costume!" She grinned shyly, took a little treat bag, and left.
I am still totally dying over this, ahaha, I thought she was a pimp. :)
