Tax Manager

I got a promotion. Effective after I come back from vacation.

This means I will see less of my family and friends. More overtime for the increase in pay.

My second round interviews apparently didn't help. I was rejected for both jobs. Back to square one? This is frustrating because it seems like finding jobs in industry is a lot harder than finding a job at the Big 4.

Is that just what I think?

The comments were I was asking for too much pay (which would be market from my research and looking at government salary postings for the same job in the same line of work and responsibilities) or I was too senior/experienced.

I'm not giving up hope, but maybe if I was funnier at interviews and asking for below market, it would help.
