Cold memory
Guys, guys!! If any of you is a Tokyo Babylon or X fan, you HAVE TO read Nukume Dori right now.
I re-read it yesterday and I have to say it's one of the best fics I've ever read in my entire life. It's incredibly epic. And emotional. And angsty. And DEEP. And above everything else, it feels like canon so much IT HURTS.
If you know the story of Seishirou and Subaru, you know it's based on ANGST -- which is one of the many reasons their relationship is so amazing. I know I'm not the only one that got completely heartbroken when Sei-chan died... yes, I knew their relationship was going to end tragically because, well, Setsuka said it, right? "You will be killed by the one you love the most" (in this case, with the lack of feelings and everything, the only person you've ever "loved"), and as heartbreaking as it may have been, it was also beautiful -- if Subaru killing him meant Seishiou loved him... I think we all new it, but we wanted to be sure. And we had that, but it still was a sad ending for those two.
Now, picture this: during the Final Battle, Seishirou and Subaru die fighting each other. But right after that, Subaru finds himself sixteen again and back to the year of The Bet, he doesn't know how it happened or why, but now he knows everything that's going to happen and who Seishirou really is.
BRILLIANT, ISN'T IT?
I love everything about it, the writing is beautiful, the characterizations are spot on, the plot itself it's so amazing that just when you think you know where the story is going, it blows your mind and goes somewhere completely different.
It only has one flaw: it's a WIP. And the last update was in july. YES. It's frustrating, but I don't care if the author completes it or not, it's already one of the best fics out there.
