The Self Esteem Project- The Bikini Top
Last summer I started making a pin up style bikini to wear at the beach. Unfortunately the pattern wasn't very good and the top didn't fit well at all. I was discouraged and frustrated so I just tossed it to the corner of the table and decided not to deal with it for a while. Then the winter came and I had no need for a bikini so the top sat unaltered for nearly a year.
This weekend I am going camping with some close friends in a fairly secluded group camping site. It is the same event that I had wanted to debut the bikini last year. It seems like a safe place where no one will laugh at me with my still round belly exposed. So this morning amongst all of the other stuff I had to get done before going away, i took a few minutes and fixed the top so that if fit fairly well. It still isn't a perfect fit but it is better. I have packed the top with a pair of store bought bottoms that I already owned and I hope to lay out in the sun with my new suit.
I have also packed my regular one piece suit because we will be going to a public beach and I am not sure I am ready for the general public to see me so bare. It will be the most revealing thing I have ever worn in public- my whole vine will be visible.
