Cross-posted from my facebook (so sue me!)
Oi vey. I have a very bad habit of talking clip-lock containers of leftover soup etc that's past it's safe-to-eat date and putting them in the sink. That part ids fine, but then the bad thing happens which is me not wanting to deal with spoiled soup etc, and procrastinating the disposal of the contents of the clip-lock container.
So it sits there for a few days, getting more and more rancid, until what would have been a slightly unpleasant chore turns into a gag-fest.
I think I learned my lesson today.
I had a clip-lock container full of leftover lentils, and it had been sitting in the sink since Monday. Our house-cleaner is coming today, and i didn't want her to have to deal with it, and *I* didn't want to deal with it at the mo', so i thought that I'd just stash it in the fridge.
Big mistake.
One of the clips on the clip-lock container containing the spoiled lentils is missing, meaning that it did not have a water-tight seal. As i swung it from sink to fridge, a little stream of whitish liquid came out and splashed me and the fridge.
It smelled exactly like barf. And not a tolerable eating-melon-and-drinking-lots-of-water-all-day kind of barf, but more like a washing-down-a-bag-of-nacho-cheese-Doritos-with-your-first-ever-bottle-of-tequila kind of barf.
I've changed my shirt, washed down the fridge. washed my arms, and i can still smell it.
hooray
