I still relish in my Costa Rica days.. .waking up to the birds and roosters, even though at that point I was trying to get a stone to kill the birds back then...haha.. I was at some point torn between wanting to go back into civilization..
why dun people just wake up to alarm clocks and I definitely missed waking up to tv..
Eric and I were driving home yesterday from my ultimate try outs, and damn... I hate myself.. I rolled my ankle again.. how unfortunate.... I was running backwards on the field and failed to see a hole in the field, rolled slow motion onto the gound and had to be carried out.. shit.. and the tournaments are this weekend.. I really want to play since I asked to be off so I can play this weekend.. irriate!!! Now I cannot even do extra flying..
I told Eric I wanted to go away, and he looked at me like I am mad... He goes, "you just got back!!!!" but man.. I want to go away again!! Preferably somewhere hot and beautiful again!!!! " But, I am going back to Singapore next month for a dear friend's wedding.. I am quite excited.. If anyone knows where to get nice wedding dresses to attend a Chinese weddding.. send me the links....
I keep telling myself I am NOT growing old..haha... On the other hand, Eric was really sweet and hung out with me, well, actually Cocoa while I played ultimate...
Anyways, back to Costa Rica.. ...........it is just so beautiful.. I couldnt sleep because I just never sleep well when I am away from my own bed.. I know I know.. (So high maintenance and princessy) , but my travel buddy was such a good sleeper that she just sleeps and doesnt notice the rain and the birds.
So, first night.. at the volcano arenal, it felt as if we were in the middle of the botanical gardens.. it was so pretty.. our entertainment was the lushness of the place instead of some tv show. We were staying in the volcano view room but because it was cloudly.. we were unable to view the volcano... I woke up and tried hard not to wake Jia up until it was time to go for the morning walk.....
the ride itself was quite insane.. we took 8/1/2 hours to get to the Volcano when it is only a four hour ride... thank goodness we were both tired and just went with the flow.. 3 buses and a cab ride later, with the cabbie's car overheating and having to sit in the middle of the volcano ride in total darkness.... ( Jia was afraid that his friends would jumnp out and rob us at that point and I tot that we were going to be dinner for some pumas or jaguarrs!!!! ) trust me .. we were so out of it that u would have told us, me at least that you were my mother and I would have believed you.. haha.. not really.. but the ride just kept going on and on and on... and we kept getting wierd stares from the ticos and ticas (Costa Rican men and women) , that I felt like a monkey in the zoo.. and they didnt even give us peanuts...
we finally got in ...checked in ... went for a drink and went to sleep in the botanical gardens.. ..
it was totally like Singapore Secondary school chalet.. with insane scenary.. oh oh ..
it was the first time we both saw a fire fly.. I wanted to catch one or two to bring back home as a pet... they were so bright.. my days would never be dull!!!! So pretty...... ..
We went for a morning walk after breakfast.. breakfast was so yummy!!! We went on a national park walk and we were so lucky because the counter was closed and we didnt end up paying for admission!!! Woo hoo...
First time, I saw a monkey.. in a tree .. it looked like a bird nest.. a colorful toucan.. just like fruit loops.. we have no idea how he spotted it even.. it was like 100 feet away.. but they did grow up in the nature.... We were so adventurous.. the guide.. Eucurado.. ( I called him gado gado) because I kept forgetting his name.. he called Jia and I "Chinatas de Jungalas" haha.. go figure it out yourself what it is... Our group was with a bunch of older American couples but they were really cool.. and fun as well.. they were troupers just like us.. with a poncho over us.. we got a red one each... :)and one couple had a Mickey Mouse one from Florida.. I need to get one too!!!! haha.. maybe with My Melody......
It was pretty cool.. we walked.. it was sunny.. next thing you know, it was raining.. madness.. and then dry and then hot, and then cool.. really ruffing it.. in my own little mind.. hahaha....
the first time we saw some volcano rocks roll down.... with bright red lights and then smoke.. it looked like a gianmous fag.... it was INSANE!!!! the view was actually quite hynotizing...
I think I really procastinated putting this entry in because I just want to go back.. I never tot I will fall in love with a place so much.. but I did... :) I didnt want it to end.. :) and I tot I was a city girl.. I guess .. u just never know...
