First of all, it is IMPERATIVE that I go to the Renaissance Festival before it's gone for another year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I NEED to go...need need NEED. I wanted to go last year and I had planned to go with my boyfriend (and possibly Art and Jess but I don't recall), but it NEVER happened. I totally forgot about it this year until I heard a commercial for it last week and started freaking out--and then I forgot AGAIN until this morning when I glanced at the Oakland Post or whatever and it had an article about it. SO, I must must must go! It ends the 25th, so who the fuck wants to go with me? lol...I'd just go around calling up my friends to see who wants to go, but I'll take anybody and everybody :) I also considered calling up Alex and my Aunt Cris because Alex wanted he and I to take the kids somewhere, but we weren't sure where (we didn't know if they'd feel too old for the zoo or not). This would probably be perfect! The kids would LOVE this! How could they not? They are, after all, related to me and fucking Alex. I bet that'd be so fun. I think I see it as being funner with children because you get to laugh at their excitement and you get to take part in all the childish things you may not do at this age. I can't think of anything besides going on play structures, but there must be something that relates to going on the fucking Dumbo ride at Disney World with a little kid who thinks it's the most amazing thing ever...Anyway, I want to go and get my fucking face painted and buy one of those flowered crowns with the ribbons flowing down from it and eat a giant turkey leg. So who's with me!? I'm free all weekends ;)
ALSO, I got a booklet in the mail from the University Musical Society (at U of M) and there are a few things I'm interested in seeing such as a few dance companies and possibly some comedic play/opera. I love how this booklet tells you the name of the show, who wrote it, what the storyline is, and what language it's spoken in, but doesn't bother telling you whether or not it's a fucking opera or a play. I would ASSUME it's an opera because it's in Italian with English subtitles (or as they like to call it, supertitles), but it's also written by an Italian and performed by Italians and from the Italian theatre. So maybe it IS a play. It never says opera, it just says "comedy," so I bet it's a play...Okay anyway, it looks really funny. Although it says that the star of the show has performed that role over 2,000 times since 1953, which doesn't make sense to me. He plays a servant, so let's say he'd have to be at least 15 to be in that role (and I highly doubt somebody that young would be in that role, but I'm just trying to emphasize my point even more). If he's 15 in 1953, he'd be 67 right now. That's insane...I just looked it up. I don't know how the fuck old this guy is because all the webpages about him are in Italian, which I happen to not know ;), but the UMS site does say he's performed the role for over 50 years in over 40 countries soooooooooooooooooo I guess 1953 was not a typo! Jesus fucking christ. I've never heard of someone being in a role so long!
Anyway, there are a handful of things I'd like to attend, so if anybody has any interest in going to something with me they should just let me know ;)
Now, I have to take my five thousand pills and begin fixing up my room some more because it's my new obsession next to mastering the French language (if I can excel in this class, despite the fact that it's a fucking second level beginner's course, then I think that'll be my second subject for education).
One last thing, I need help coming up with super cool name for my storage room :) Any ideas? Silly, crazy, practical, WHATEVER--I need something wonderous :-D
And now I bid you ADIEU!
