Delayed

Due to some people's jumping the gun, I'm not able to use some of the pre-written material I had done for the modplot. Some sections need to be rewritten or edited to reflect character's sudden and unexplained premonitions, unprompted requisitions, and the overall paranoia infusing the compound.

I want to make clear that these characters were not informed of the content of the modplot beforehand and ONLY the mods are aware of the chain of events which will take place.

Because of this, I'm going to have to push the start date of the modplot forward. I simply can't have all the rewritten things done tonight and due to my extra-long holiday hours tomorrow (13 hours -- it's Thanksgiving here) I won't be able to work on the alterations tomorrow. However I have all of Tues and Wed off, so I'll be able to complete the edits and get the bulk of the modplot started then.

I apologize to the players this affects who were not part of causing this delay, but I would rather give you all a well-planned plot instead of one patched together.

Guil EDIT: We mods are all disappointed that some players would jump the gun, metagaming information that the mods have in no way said anyone should have IC, and doing so without checking with us first. It's quite unfortunate that we're having to set this back and change things because of this. Sadly, people knowing ahead of time would actually contradict the plot itself, which means one or the other has to go. We would like to ask that in the future, if you would like to use information that we haven't announced is known ICly, to please ask us first before using it.

Tamara EDIT: One of the issues being brought up in comments is a concern for the mods being upset with those characters who merely followed suite. We're not angry, merely disappointed that the paranoia took off so quickly and the manner in which it was sparked. We intended the mod plot to be a surprise, something that would catch the characters off guard and seem completely out of the blue. That is something that is now ruined and due to the extensive amount of gaming that's stemmed from it, cannot be taken back. A lot of this took place while the mods were sleeping and we woke up to a friends page full of things that made it seem, even to us, that the plot had started--which, as we well knew, it hadn't. We understand how some may've gotten the impression that it was and that the premonitions and paranoia were all part of the plot. It wasn't. No one was informed of the plot outside of the mods. No. One. From IMs that I personally received earlier today, there was a misconception that some players had been told, which led to other players feeling hurt that they were "left out" and "not asked" to participate. Again, they didn't know, they were merely jumping the gun.

As Guil said, if you are unsure about something, ask a mod. Don't use the excuse "a mod wasn't online," either. Wait for a mod to come on or e-mail the mod account or one of the mods individually--our e-mails are listed in the mod journal's userinfo for a reason.

Sammy EDIT: Just letting everyone know that the mods have all looked over the posts that were going to be up today for the plot, and honestly, there is simply no way to patch them up in a way that would be acceptable to any of us for the level of plot that we would like this to be. Just putting that out there, to let people know that we have considered just trying to work with what we have... and it just won't work. Thanks for your patience, everyone. :)
