[Thread] - A-Hunting We Will Go

Cemetery

[notabighead]

The cemetery was oddly comforting today. He had convinced himself that he was there to check up on the resident paranormal activity. In reality, he'd come there to think. He had good memories associated with it, and he needed something to raise his mood.

Dib was seriously worried about Johanna.

Her father had gone...well...crazy, and it had obviously affected her. He would've gone to check on her...but at this point, he was afraid to.

That's what he was thinking about.

He cared about Johanna, that was obvious to him now. Sadly, he was also now acutely aware of his own inadequacy.

Oh well, at least he had something to think about while he waited for ghosts.

[skyefalls]

There was an odd feeling in the air. Like someone sighing. The wind sighing with whoever it was. Sora grinned at this as he shoved his hands in his pockets, whistling in the quiet graveyard as he walked past.

Someone - oh.

"Bad day?"

[notabighead]

"Yeah," Dib muttered, before he spun around in surprise. Oh, it was just a boy. Wait....glowing yellow eye? Dib raised his brow.

"What are you?"

[skyefalls]

"It's a matter of who, not what," he replied, tilting his head as he stepped inside the cemetery. "Sora. My parents told me it means sky."

He looked up. "But then the sky fell..."

[notabighead]

"Okay," he replied, his brow still raised. "My name's Dib...paranormal investigator." He added the last part almost as an afterthought. He got tired introducing himself.

"But...what's up with your eye?" He asked, not willing to drop the subject.

[skyefalls]

This kid was irritating him now. "You ask so many questions," he answered, walking closer to him. "This," he pointed to his eye, "Is my Heartless side. happy?"

[notabighead]

"Sorry, it's kind of my job," he replied without shame. He leaned forward, now noting the clawed hand. "Heartless?" he asked, truly interested.

[skyefalls]

"Yeah," Sora nodded. The kid was fascinated with him and Sora had never had that happen to him before. What was up with him? "Aren't you scared?"

[notabighead]

Dib laughed a bit. "Me, scared? Like I said, I'm a paranormal investigator. I've seen a lot of weird shit in my time." He put his hand up to his chin. "But really, what's a heartless?"

[skyefalls]

He was brave, this one. Perhaps he had never seen true horror yet. Weird, but not horrible. Interesting. Perhaps a literal demonstration would help.

"Heartless are created when you take a person's heart." Sora answered, flicking his wrist, calling on his shadow and making in dance slowly towards the other's feet. "Like what I'm planning to do with you, hmmm?"

[notabighead]

"Uh huh..." he replied, the fact of the matter slowly sinking in. "Wait, what?." He jumped up from the tombstone and stared at the other in disbelief.

Dib hadn't been expecting any trouble, given the cuffs, but now he was starting to get worried.

"You can't get away with that!" he shot, jabbing his finger towards his cuff.

[skyefalls]

"Oh, but I can," he grinned, opening his arms as if going for a hug. "You're an interesting one. Not scared of a little darkness, are you?"

"You tell me you're a paranormal investigator. Surely this isn't a strange thing to happen, hmmm>"

[notabighead]

Dib smirked, eyes narrowing. "No, really. You can't get away with it. We still have these," he sneered, shaking his cuffed wrist in the air. "Nice try though, come back when you have something really scary."

[skyefalls]

Sora shrugged, and swept down in a mocking bow. "As you wish."

He flicked both wrists and all the shadows in the graveyard gathered under his feet, and as he pointed a finger at the other the darkness followed his whim easily, binding his ankles and wrists to the nearest tombstone. "Scared yet?"

Dib yelped as he felt his back smash into the tombstone. Okay, that wasn't supposed to happen. The cuffs would kick in soon, they had to.

"No!" Dib yelled back as he struggled against the darkness.

[skyefalls]

"Yes, actually," Sora snickered, stepping over to him, both eyes glowing Heartless yellow by now. This one's aura, while melancholy for the time being, was a strong one. And a thirst for - oh. He grinned. "It wouldn't hurt, I promise. I just need to borrow your heart, hmm? And your bad day would be made all better."
