Mello rarely every jumped in surprise, but the unfamiliar voice and the tap on the door jolted him from his mindless state. He'd spent the last hour staring at the floor by his bed, rosary tucked between his fingers, and head tilted against one knee. His twin was gone, and Matt was still missing.

His head was spinning in circles, off and on, trying to wrap around the situation. He didn't want to believe it would just end like that, and he'd never see that Mello again. The thought that he could be replaced in only a few days time was not as comforting as it could have been ( ... )

"Yep. You look like shit," Gojyo said, then raised the bottle, shaking it. "Wine, like I told ya. Shall we drink? Let's drown ourselves, yeah? Come on," the redhead said, pushing his way in without being invited. He walked straight, even strutting and cockily, though one still had to wonder if he was already drunk because of his loose tongue.

"You got any cups?" he asked, stopping in the middle of the living room. He was looking curiously around the dorm, wondering if there was anybody else there. He couldn't figure it out on his own though, so he just asked, "Anyone else here? Wouldn't want to be disturbing them..." he trailed off, twisting the cap off the bottle of wine.

"I could say the same for you." Mello spoke dryly as he stepped back to let Gojyo inside. He kicked aside an empty bag as he sat on the couch. There were a few dried flat breads in their wrappers and several small, individually wrapped chocolate bars sitting on the table. He nodded to them and forced a weak grin. "Figured I would pay in forward." He leaned back and crossed one leg over the other.

"Doubt it. I haven't found any. There's a few empty water bottles in the bag by the door." He was planning on going to the pond in the park to refill them, but he hadn't had the strength, or will to go out today. They had just buried his twin the day before, and he was pretty damn exhausted.

"No one's here right now." Mello replied, shaking his head. Both room mates had been out for now. He didn't know when to expect them back, but he didn't really care. He preferred the quiet for now.

Gojyo looked down at the many sweets that littered the room. This guy really had a sweet tooth, didn't he? "Uh...thanks. I'll get some later," he said, settling down on the couch beside Mello. He didn't really think he had the patience--or the hands--to pour alcohol into water bottles before drinking them. "If you don't mind sharing..." he said, tracing the opening of the bottle with a forefinger to show what he meant. He then shoved it towards Mello. "You go first," he offered.

"Ah, that's good. But lonesome in your loneliness, eh?" Gojyo asked, frowning. Was it that he didn't have roomies or they didn't care how he was. Ah well. Not his problem, really. "I'll stay with you...for a bit. Let's get drunk!" he said, almost giddy.
