Todd was in the lounge area, mainly because it currently was uninhabited save for a few. He had laid down on one of the couches, his long coat crumpled up on the very end of the couch. He stared up at the ornately designed ceiling and studied the strange lights looming above his skull. He couldn't figure out how they emitted light, but he didn't think anyone else knew. He tried to occupy himself with staring, but the man really still was a walking train wreck.

The man's razor was out, clutched to his chest randomly, but he didn't seem to be paying very much attention to it. Then suddenly he heard a soft voice speak out, a very familiar one that he had grown accustom to. He heard her talk, how well off he had it? He snorted some at that, but said nothing more, laying there in silence.

Apparently, Lovett hadn't noticed Todd on the couch, for she, in fact, was looking in the other direction. She had stormed off the other day after he had reminded her just what it was that he really wanted to do with her, if given the chance. While she would've welcomed such a thing if he truly wanted it...a good portion of her was devastated with the harsh slap across the face.

Why was it that she loved him so much? He hadn't done anything for her in a long time, setting aside how wealthy the two of them were becoming. Aside from that...he really hadn't done anything for her. She was always the giver in their cracked up relationship. Sure, she never really cared...but after hearing him say such things to her, it really made her think. Maybe it would've been better off to leave him alone for a while, then he'd see how much he really needed her.

But no...she couldn't bring herself to break him in such a manner. So she would continue to take the abuse.

"If...you only knew...Mister Todd..." She sang softly to herself, crossing to a ( ... )

Todd continued to stare at the ceiling and think. He had to prove himself to Lucy, he had to prove that he was still Benjamin Barker. Well, on some level at least. The man held his razor out, twirling it gently in the glimmer of the electric lights. Did he really have to change everything he had become to get his wife back? He would have tried, if he knew it could have gotten her back. No, the realistic but pessimistic Todd knew very well that even if he changed totally, Lucy wouldn't take him back. So what was the use in struggling to change if it would come to nothing?

Still, it wouldn't hurt to try and be more like Ben, especially when he was around his wife. Ah, what a sticky situation the barber found himself into.

He sighed gently, ignoring Lovett for the moment, still twirling the razor slightly in the light.

Lovett had froze when she noticed the reflected light from the razor bounce off the wall in front of her. Truthfully, it startled her beyond words, causing her to turn around rather swiftly to see Todd on the couch. For once...she didn't appear happy to see him. She thought, perhaps, one day would go by where she wouldn't have to babysit the man.

That's all she really felt like to him anymore...a babysitter.

She's simply stare at him for a moment before speaking in a rather low tone. "Sorry...didn't realize I had company..." She crossed the room again, avoiding his eyes for the moment. Oh yes...she was still very hurt.
