For once, things in Econtra seemed calm and quiet. Ahiru stared out the window, bouncing slightly on her toes. She liked Econtra best when things were quiet. It made the place seem safer.
A loud grumble from the vicinity of Ahiru's stomach told her that she might want to risk going out. She looked out at the snow a little longer before deciding that a trip to the mess hall ought to be safe enough. After all, what could really happen?
Grabbing a cloak - whoever had given these out at the start of the cold snap was a god-send - Ahiru went skipping out of Loh-Enas. "I'm getting some lunch! I'm getting some lunch!" Ahiru sing-songed to herself as she hurried out of the building.
Even when bundled up, there was enough of a chill to bring up a hint of red in Ahiru's cheeks. But the air smelled cleaner and fresher than it did indoors. When warmer weather came again, Ahiru figured that she would probably spend more time outside than in. Until thin, though, she would be doing things the other way around.
