Kimblee had wandered into the mess hall out of boredom - he did a lot of wandering around the place to kill time because there simply wasn't much else to do around there - and he spotted the Flame alchemist sneaking into the kitchen.

Curious as he was the Crimson Alchemist followed the Flame alchemist to see what the other was up to. From the way he was sneaking about it seemed like he was on some very secret mission. But there couldn't be any secret missions here, especially not in the kitchen.

Kimblee stopped to the kitchen door in time to see Roy empty his pockets which really didn't lessen his confusion. He stood in the doorway, meeting the Flame Alchemist with a confused look when Roy turned to leave.

"The hell are you doing?"

"Nothing." Roy answered quickly masking his surprise at seeing Kimblee there as fast as he could. The Colonel had thought he hadn't been followed; obviously his espionage skills were somewhat lacking.

"Were you following me?" the Flame Alchemist spat back, hoping to change the subject.

"Oh don't flatter yourself, Flame," Kimblee snorted. "It's a mere coincidence I was around and saw you up to something weird, then I decided to stay and see what's up."

"So, what's up?" Kimblee was curious and he wasn't going to let Mustang walk away before he got an answer out of the man.

"Nothing's up Kimblee," he sighed. "I was just returning something." Roy shoved his hands in his now empty pockets. He shouldn't have to answer to the other alchemist but it seemed very likely Kimblee wasn't moving until he was satisfied.

"Return, huh?" Kimblee repeated, studying Roy's face thoughtfully. Roy was very right, he wasn't planning to go anywhere. "Tea bags? Why the hell did you have your pockets full of tea bags you had to return?"

The Colonel clenched his jaw tight unknowingly. His reasons for wanting to return the tea were based heavily in guilt, guilt brought on by the simple comments of one man. Roy felt suddenly felt much more foolish than when he'd original got the idea.

"It's...complicated." he finally ground out between clenched teeth. More like stupid. The Flame thought to himself.

"Everything's always complicated to you, Flame," Kimblee rolled his eyes and shook his head, giving Roy a pitying look. "Always having to make your life harder for yourself..."

This 'pity' didn't make him want to let Roy flee from the situation though. He tapped his fingers against the door frame, waiting "Just spit it out already."

Roy didn't appreciate the pitying look coming from someone like the Crimson Alchemist. "If you must know, I was returning them because someone told me they were missing them. I have been taking the damn things and hording them for weeks so I felt guilty and decided to return them." He leveled an annoyed gaze at Kimblee. "There, are you happy now?"

That got the Crimson Alchemist to burst into laughter. "Guilty, you? Should have known." The laughter subsided and Kimblee's expression turned even more pitying.

"Really Mustang, you're so predictable and so pathetic. You never change," he shook his head with a disappointed sigh. "Though why the hell would you steal teabags beats me..."

The Colonel scowled at the laughing maniac, regretting ever saying anything. He should have just shoved past him and moved on.

"Neither do you," he growled. "And I like tea, is it that hard to figure out?"

It would have been useless to shove past him and move on. The Crimson Alchemist would have followed. He didn't have anything better to do, he was curios and picking on Roy was always fun.

"Why thank you, I don't intent to," he chuckled. "Why steal though, Colonel? Couldn't you have all the tea you want here?"

He shrugged, partly to convey he was unsure and partly to attempt relieve the tenseness that was forming in his shoulders. Conversation with Kimblee wasn't on his list of things he was looking forward too, but Roy wasn't in the mood to start anything.

"I didn't think of it as stealing. I thought it was free, I mean, its just sitting there." he waved at the bags behind him vaguely. "Besides, I'd rather not have to beg that damn computer for anything if I don't have to."

"If you didn't think it as stealing then why the sudden guilt?" Kimblee kept pushing the subject, he would keep pushing it until Roy's explanation made sense though there was a high chance that would never happen as the Flame Alchemist didn't seem to follow any logic. Not any logic the Crimson Alchemist understood anyway.

"You sure are screwed up from the head, Mustang"

"Guilt isn't the right word really, I just thought it'd be nice if I returned it so everyone who wanted it could enjoy it." He paused, maybe that was guilt. Roy shifted his weight as he mulled it over before Kimblee's last comment got through.

"This coming from someone who was imprisoned for being so 'screwed up in the head' he couldn't contain himself from killing hundreds over zealously!?" The Flame Alchemist spat at the man in front of him.

"Let me get this straight," Kimblee said patiently, in no hurry to be done with the topic. "You felt bad because your theft would cause grief to others? Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe that is the definition of guilt, Mustang."

"Oi, don't even get started on that," Kimblee warned, his eyes narrowed in annoyance and his body tensed. "I was just doing my job and if the army wasn't full of guilt-ridden wussies like yourself they would have understood it and pardoned me earlier."

"Fine, I was guilty. What's it to you!?" Roy snapped. This topic of conversation was getting old and Roy was sure the Crimson Alchemist was only sticking to it to annoy him.

The Colonel was equally tense as he started in on this new topic. "If you had just done your job without all the extra flare there would have been no need for you to have been discharged. And if the damn army was as guilt-ridden as you claim it is incidents like Lior wouldn't have ever happened!"
