Warnings: possibly emotional!Mercury, which may result in lashing out somewhat
Two separate events had led to this meeting with Ayumi somehow. Nephrite was dead; Mercury had seen that in a vision with the help of that magical scrying crystal. She believed it; nothing in the vision had rung false to the temperaments of the people involved. Second, following a few days after the first, had been the nightmare of her world's end - by the hand of the Princess.
The senshi had been alternately filled with rage, regret, tearfulness, frustration...sorrow? For a girl living in the Dark Kingdom, where emotionality and certainly outbursts were discouraged at best and often dangerous, it was unforgivable. Even though she was generally treated with amused tolerance there, that was the problem. She wanted to be taken seriously.
Enough.
That's enough.
Control your greed.
Drop the selfishness.
She knew all those things. Knew Kunzite would tell her them right now if he were in Econtra. Probably chastise her for getting so worked up, so out of control. Tell her to calm herself, choose the right time for their revenge, to stop disgracing herself. Because she was disgracing herself. Caring about a failure. Looking for...comfort? from the sailor senshi from different worlds than Mercury's own. Whining to the point the Princess in Econtra had yelled at her - and been right.
She needed her focus back, needed to focus on what was important: her mission, her goals, her revenge on the sailor senshi. Studying would help, would give the senshi of knowledge practical knowledge to use. Somewhat. By now she'd arrived at Ci-Epta where the rather mildly amusing cloak-and-dagger instructions had told her to come. She didn't bother knocking, but stepped inside. "Ayumi?"
Since she was coming to study, Ami was de-transformed; Ayumi probably hadn't seen her this way before. She looked like a young Japanese girl, with obviously Asian features and roughly shoulder-length dark hair. The eyes were a little strange, difficult to judge the color of and perhaps a little glassy, though her movements did not suggest the influence of any drug.
