Faye was out on her habitual circuit of the compound when she saw a familiar flash of red hair. She took a drag on her cigarette as she watched the hacker dance around the pavement, calling out to the Indigeo in a playful sing-song voice. Blowing out a cloud of smoke and shoving one of her hands into the pocket of her gray coat, she called out to the idiot savant genius kid.

"Do you really think that's gonna work?"

"Why not, Faye-Faye?" Ed answered, not turning around. She hopped up on the fountain, balancing with her arms out to the sides as she walked the edge. "Idgy likes to play. Ed will get him to play!" She grinned, then started calling for the small orb again. "Idgy! Idgy!"

Faye thought this over a second, then shrugged. "...Eh, why not? I've tried stranger things." She took another drag from her cigarette, smirking as she exhaled another cloud of smoke. "Of course," she said, "if you really want the Indigeo to come out, you should announce publicly that you're going to escape. Worked for me~." Her smirk widened briefly before being replaced by a frown. "...Ed, are you sure you really want the Indigeo to come out? I don't think the Keepers are done being angry at it... if Idgy comes out to play, the Keepers will attack, and we'll be caught in the crossfire again."

Ed looked back over her shoulder at Faye with a curious expression.

"Keepers don't like Idgy..." she said softly, almost considering that situation for a moment. "Does Faye-Faye think Keepers would really hurt Idgy again?" She turned and hopped off the side of the fountain, bouncing her way over to Faye.

Faye raised her eyebrows. "Well yeah, sure, I think they'd try," she replied. "They seemed pretty gung-ho about it earlier. ...This is assuming the Indigeo's even around anymore... who knows what happened to it? The Keepers stopped attacking pretty abruptly."

Ed pouted slightly. "Did Keepers do something bad to Idgy?" she asked quietly.

Faye shrugged. "I dunno, Ed, I didn't see. I was hiding." She briefly flashed a small smirk. "...You're really worried about the Indigeo, aren't you?"

"Ed likes Idgy. Idgy liked Ed." The girl huffed slightly in disappointment, and then walked back over towards Faye. "Where did Faye-Faye hide?" she asked. "Heero-ooh took Ed to safety."

Faye honestly did hope the Indigeo was alive, still around, and would be back. It was more likely to be helpful and friendly than the Keepers. She took a long pull on her cigarette, keeping her thoughts to herself. "In my room," Faye replied vaguely, around a cloud of smoke. "Good on... whoever for keeping you safe. Gods know you get yourself into enough trouble." Her lips twitched into something that may have been a smirk and may have been a smile.

"Ed doesn't get in trouble!" she said with a laugh. "Ed is good!" She bounced over to Faye. "Did Faye-Faye see Entropi?"

Faye shook her head, chuckling a little, then gave in to an urge to ruffle Ed's incessantly messy hair when she came within reach. "You mean, did I see them chasing each other around? Yeah, I did," she said, in response to Ed's question. "I was walking around outside when it started. Damned things nearly took my head off."

"Reeeeeaaaally?" she asked. This, of course, prompted a close study of Faye's head and neck. Ed darted around her in a seemingly random and haphazard manner, poking, prodding, and staring at the bounty hunter to see just what, if any, lingering damage might be visible. After a few minutes of this, Ed stood back suddenly, staring at Faye with a thoughtful look on her face and a finger on her chin. "Hmmmmm~... Looks attached to Ed," she said.

"Gah!" Faye squirmed a little as she was poked, attempting in vain to dodge the prodding. After a few seconds she gave up trying to track Ed's revolutions around her and stood still, looking perplexed and a little disturbed.

When Ed's dizzying whirling finally stopped and the girl made her oh-so-astute observation, Faye rolled her eyes. "Well, yeah, I did say nearly. As in almost, but didn't?"

Ed just giggled. "Faye-Faye's in one piece~~!" she said, swinging her arms happily.

Faye shook her head with resigned amusement, knocking some ashes off of her cigarette before taking a drag. "Well, I'm glad you're happy about that," she replied wryly.

"Why wouldn't Ed be happy?" she asked, looking at Faye.
