Ed followed Alice's example and found a place next to her to sit. He smiled back when she called him 'Brother.' The circumstances may have been strange, but Ed figured they were siblings of sorts. After all, they had the same parents - well, more or less.

"That's fine," he replied easily, though Ed was actually really curious to meet these people. "Do you know where they went?"

Wherever Johan had been, he was back now, walking back into Paj-Tria and talking the whole way, to someone who wasn't there. Or at least who could not be seen by normal eyes. Ruby Carbuncle was on his shoulder and was who he was speaking to.

"With all of the duelists here, there should be someone willing to give it a try," he said thoughtfully. "And he'd probably only believe I am one if he sees me in action...probably not even then, but I want to try."

He stopped when he saw Alice and someone else sitting there and waved casually. "Hey. Friend of yours?" he asked Alice curiously.

Not long after, Juudai shuffled into the room, and his eyes immediately shifted back and forth between the formerly-broken wall and the three people sitting in the apartment, one of whom was unfamiliar to him. But considering how he and Alice were sitting together like that, it was probably someone she knew, he figured.

"Oh, hey, I don't think I know you," Juudai said casually, directed towards the blond boy. "I'm Yuuki Juudai! So I guess you know Alice by the looks of it?"

As usual, Ling had entered the apartment through the window. The bedroom window, but the window nonetheless. It was somewhat of a habit for him, at this point, and besides, it was faster that going down the stairs and walking down the hallway. And it kept him in shape, so.

His roommates were in the living room - he could hear them talking. Though, there was one other voice that didn't belong to his roommates, but he recognized nonetheless.

Ling smiled. Ed had made it over here, hadn't he. He and Alice had probably found each other, and she'd brought him over. That was good.

But he didn't come out yet. First, he had to decide on exactly how to say hi to the friend who he hadn't seen in nearly a year. He had to do so in an unexpected manner, after all.

"Johan! Judai!" Alice greeted her roommates with a smile. "I'm glad you're back. This is Edward Elric...he's a version of my brother."

She didn't know where they had gone, but she was glad to see them again, especially after what had happened.

Ed looked from Alice to the young men who just walked in. The one with brown and orange hair had introduced himself as Juudai. That made the one who came in first - had he been talking to himself earlier? - Johan.

"Hey, nice to meet you," Ed greeted with a smile. "So you're Alice's roommates, huh?"

Hmmm. Looked like the only one missing was Ling.

Johan waved a little as he made himself more comfortable. Ruby trilled happily on his shoulder and he absently reached up to pet her. He'd figure out who he wanted to ask about a duel later.

"Johan Andersen. Nice to meet Alice's brother." Or a version thereof.

"Oh! Awesome! Uhh... can I call you 'Ed', maybe? Edward is kinda long," Juudai said with an awkward laugh, and added, "Heh, it kinda sounds like the name of a friend of mine." Of course, the way Juudai pronounced it with the subtle "o" sound at the end, as his Japanese accent was wont to do, made it sound much like "Edo", instantly making him think of his silver-haired friend.

"Anyway, yeah, we are. Though... I should warn you in advance if Alice hasn't told you already that there's another version of me here. It's a long story, but he's... really not fond of any of us, I think." At this, Juudai glanced at Johan briefly with a sort of apologetic look. "But he's not exactly anyone's idea of the perfect friend, basically, so if you can help it, maybe you should steer clear of him. He's younger than me, and has... golden eyes, so you can use that as a way to distinguish us, I think."

"Judai's right, about the other version of him. Not someone you'd want to run into."

And Ling entered the room through the bedroom door, his smile a very cheerful one. "It's good to see you, Ed."

"Ling!" She smiled at her last roommate as he entered through a door instead of a window. She looked over at her brother and then smiled and around at the others. It was good seeing them all safe. They were the few friends that she had in this place.

"Johan," Ed repeated, committing the name to memory. "Nice to meet you." Ed couldn't help but notice that Johan was petting a patch of air above his shoulder. He tipped his head slightly to one side, puzzled. A quick glance around the room told him that either no one noticed or this was apparently normal, so he didn't say anything about it. "And thanks for helping out Alice after all that stuff with the Keepers."

He turned to his other new acquaintance.

"Yeah, sure. 'Ed' is fine, Juudai." He paused and gave a wry sort of grin. "I'm usually only called Edward when I'm in trouble." Ed frowned a bit at Alice's broken automail. "And yeah, I've been forewarned. I'll keep an eye out for your look-a-like."

Ed grinned widely at the latest person to come into the room.

"Ling, hey! It's good to see you too." He meant every word because this was the real Ling, the whole Ling, his friend, not Greedling. Then Ed registered that Ling had come in from the bedroom. But he and Alice had just come from there! "Wait...where did you...how did ( ... )

Johan waved politely to Ling as he took his deck out and started to sort through it. Even as he did, the three Crystal Kittens poked their noses out of their cards, and were bounding around the room a moment later. He sighed briefly and shook his head, watching them careen around.

"Kittens..." He wasn't warning them not to cause trouble...more or less, he was warning the rest of the people there about what was going on. Well, those who knew about them, anyway. They couldn't cause much damage, but just watching them zip around could be hilarious.

"He likes to come in through the window," Juudai laughed, turning to glance at Ling briefly with an amused expression. And the amusement was certainly not helped when the kittens began to run about the room, tackling one another and bouncing up and down energetically. He smiled, eyes following them idly as they played in their usual lively way.

Hane Kuriboh appeared, the brown fluffball fluttering down to the kittens' level to greet them. Though it was still getting used to the concept of two of the Gem Beasts having kittens, it certainly didn't mind a few extra friends and playmates.

"It's good exercise," he excused innocently with a laugh as he waved to his roommates, not adding the fact that he did enjoy watching the Elrics' expressions when they realized that he was there and hadn't been before. It was always entertaining. And it really had been too long since he'd seen Ed.

"From all the times you've come inside, you've always used the window, Ling." Al said with a small laugh as she looked around. She was used to Ling showing up in unexpected places, she had been living with him for a while.

"Always the dramatic entrances," Ed teased Ling. "Windows, sewers, Rush Valley wasn't all that subtle either..."

"So you guys have kittens?" He did a quick scan of the room but didn't see anything. Maybe they were hiding. Man, his Al would be so jealous of this one.
