The fractured windows on the top floor offered a bird's-eye view of Econtra's center and the Warden's administration of havoc within. From one of these windows stood the Joker, obscured in darkness and very still. Based on what he'd observed of the attacks on less fortunate residents, movement played a major role in what did them in. Simply from the way she approached, bold and with no trace of fear, he knew this was going to be one of those rare little moments that, with a pinch of luck, might even turn into something interesting. The Joker knew from the way Helena spoke that she adhered firmly to the belief that there is some amount of good in all people, that reform was possible for everyone, even for the most evil of souls. She was someone who had yet to be corrupted by the ways of the real world and now more than ever, he could sense just how sheltered her life had really been.

When Helena extended her hand to him, he seized it gripping her wrist tight and giving it a sharp little tug in his direction. Her glove was yanked off and for the briefest moment he appeared to be scrutinizing her fingernails. Or more specifically, what was beneath her fingernails.

"Have you been drawing again, Helena?" His eyes darted up to her face with the inquiry. Her demand was going ignored for now but it wasn't forgotten.

She was taken by surprise when she found herself being tugged closer to The Joker. She wasn't expecting it at all and the surprise showed on her face for a brief moment. She regained her senses quickly and replied, "Well... yes, I mean, why wouldn't- I'm sorry, why does it matter?" Helena was shaking her head in wonder ( ... )
