Characters: OU Larka, OU Urd, OU Tony Stark Where: Paj-Deka When: After this conversation Summary: Larka goes to heal Urd's arm. Warnings: Shouldn't be any.
Larka entered the room quietly, making her way toward the bathroom, where the voice welcoming her had come from. Briefly, she wondered if perhaps she should have made a note about her species before she had come - as far as she could recall (and though hers was better than your typical Varg, her memory certainly wasn't perfect), she had never met the being she was visiting, and she was never sure what reaction she would receive. Too late for forewarning now though.
She approached the bathroom in a manner that stated that she was neither looking to harm anyone nor particularly timid. "My name is Larka, by the way. I apologize for not mentioning it in our conversation."
Tony cursed at his non-responsive sensors and threw down the helmet in his hand. With a sigh he stopped walking down the hallway and picked the helmet back up, rubbing it lovingly where its crown hit the floor kind of hard. End result was not satisfying on the paint job, but there was nothing he could do short of building a time machine that could fix that now
( ... )
Well, Urd's response to her not being human-shaped was a good one, at least. At least she wasn't scared.
...And then the unidentified male came in. His was one of the worse reactions that she had experienced here, almost akin to those that were common back in her own world, except that their weapons were more of the physical variety - what this one had appeared to be probably some kind of magic. Mentally, she sighed.
"I'm here to help," she told the man, "so I would appreciate if you didn't attack me."
Then, turning back toward Urd's injury, she stated, "I'll need to place my paw on your arm in order to heal it. Is that all right?"
Tony blinked at the talking wolf. Really, he shouldn't be so surprised by this point in time. He'd been here for far too long as it were. But it had been a while since he'd run into any of the... odder... residents. He stared for a moment before taking a breath he hadn't realized he'd been holding and then looked away. It was possible the look on his face right about now was the closest thing to embarrassed that Stark could ever manage.
He shrugged it off and grinned at Urd sheepishly, with a hint of mischievousness. "'S not even plugged up right. Couldn't hit the broadside of a barn right now. And that's not because my aim's bad." He shrugged again and glanced away, his face straightening immediately with the action.
"That thing," he said, turning back again, "can heal?"
Mentally, Larka twitched slightly. Varg had their pride as Varg, after all - being referred to as a 'thing' was not something that she particularly appreciated.
But she was not here to argue, she was here to use her particular talents to do something for the good of someone else. And so she placed her front paw on Urd's arm, closed her eyes, and concentrated, allowing her own energy to flow into Urd's arm and heal what harm had been done to it.
He glanced down at the helmet in his hand and punched a button or two on the inside before shrugging and looking back up. "Nothing... it's just..." He shrugged again. "Needs to be recalibrated."
Tony glanced down at the wolf briefly and then back up. "Can aim but not shoot a weapon that has no power..." pause, "I just got out of the suit. Didn't think I needed to be running around in it if I was coming over..."
Yeah. This is Tony rambling for no real reason. --Or is there one?
After the healing was complete, Larka stepped away from Urd and sat by the wall of the bathroom opposite where the other beings in the room were. Even without the proper words, she understood Urd's thankful sentiment. And the Varg herself was also grateful - grateful that her Sight was able to be utilized to help others. It had taken her until as of late to stop thinking of the majority of it in a negative light, and it felt good to be reminded that her abilities did, in fact, have positive aspects to them.
She still wasn't quite sure what to make of the male - Urd had referred to him as Tony, so that was probably his name - but he didn't seem as though he was going to (even pretend to) attack again, so she did nothing but simply watch.
Stark watched Urd play around with her arm, noting the non-injured state with an absent mind. His eyes flickered over the rest of her body quickly and confirmed that the arm had been the only wound, and that with that already healed there was nothing else to worry about. Urd was fine. Good.
He glanced at the wolf briefly; he was impressed, but that was not something that he would say or show. His mouth was set into a thin line.
His attention returned to the goddess with the question. It took his mind a moment to comprehend what she had said, and only after a silent pause did he answer. "...Chipped paint? Oh, I threw it down..." Miff. "No, no.... no explanation... just... defensive?"
If Varg were able to smile like humans, really, Larka would have done so. As it was, she gave at least a semblance of doing so. "I'm glad I was able to help."
And with that, deciding that the two of them would probably want to talk without anyone else there, Larka silently started out the door.
Tony scowled and gave her a mock glare to match her sarcasm. Now that was a "defensive" reaction. "I didn't scare her off, you ignored her to death. She was your guest." But he didn't mean it, even if those were fightin' words. He shrugged a moment later.
"...I tend to fix things on my own, Urd. It's what I do. Fix things, or make them better. Or create new things. It's in my genes somewhere, I assure you."

That explanation? Total BS. Obviously.
