Wufei paused in his stalking for just a moment; he thought he heard a voice in the distance. Listening carefully, he identified it: masculine, shouting, with a hint of urgency -- Heero. Of course it was Heero, who thought Wufei incompetent against any of the dangers in this place, who thought Wufei to be powerless, weak. He'd prove the Wing Zero pilot wrong.

The last time he'd face Harth, he had not been prepared for his superhuman strenght and reflexes, had not been aware that the person he was stalking was a vampire, and would not have believed it if he had been told, besides. This time, he knew better.

He was not foolish enough to think that an attempt to capture the vampire would result in success; with this sort of creature, to come at it with anything less than the intention of killing it was to court his own death. Though he had pride in his skills at hand to hand, and was wearing his sword as backup, his first weapon of choice would be the automatic pistol in his shoulder holster.

Approaching a small clearing, he slowed; if he were a vampire, with a strength and speed advantage, an open area would be best for facing a slower, weaker opponent, by depriving that opponent of cover.

Harth turned to Heero, smiling a predatory smile. Almost like he knew something Heero didn't. Almost. Smug, really. He watched the young man and waited for him to venture closer. "I didn't think you'd be the first." He started walking towards Heero, eyes gleaming.

"What should we play? Cat and mouse? Sounds fun, doesn't it? I remember watching old scopes with my sister.. Mouse won sometimes.." All the time actually.. And the mouse was the smarter.. Which made Harth, in a way, the mouse.

Heero froze at the voice, pulling his gun. "I'm not interested in playing any games with you," he growled. "What the hell do you want really?"

"I told you, Heero. I want to play, that's about it. I want to see how your little squad works.." he paused, eyeing the gun. "You really thing that will hurt me?"

Heero flipped the safety off. It had been a very long time since he had shot anyone. "Maybe not. Might slow you down," he admitted. "I told you, I'm not interested in playing with you. And there is no squad. I came alone."

Heero had beat him to the clearing, Wufei realized, listening to the conversation as he stayed within the safe cover of the trees, just for the moment.

Damn; he didn't have a clear shot, and with Heero pulling his own gun, bringing it into play would be ill-advised. Skulking about was not his usual modus operandi, and leaving Heero to deal with Harth on his own was also ill-advised, but it was necessary to work smart here, rather than leap directly into a confrontation. He began to work his way around the clearing, looking for a better angle.

"Go ahead then, Heero.." Harth smiled deviously, brows perched gleefully. "Hit me with your best shot."

If It was only Heero then.. well.. well that was boring. Oh well. He was a player after all. He noticed a slight shadow near the tree line. Someone else? Perhaps Wufei, perhaps more. He took steps towards Heero then, stopping only 10 feet away unless Heero shot at him.

Heero raised the gun the moment Harth moved. It had been so long... "Stop," he growled. "I asked you want you wanted. I...I don't want to fight you. I just want this to end."

He hesitated because this wasn't entirely true. There was nothing Heero wanted more than to kick Harth's ass. He just wasn't sure he could.

"Toy.." Harth chuckled... "Because this could all end with you!" He barked, laughing at the boy, jerking forward to provoke the boy. "Well... Actually.. if I kill you, the only people I have to contend with, really.. is that woman and your little Quatre.. No body else really cares much for you, at lease, none of which who would avenge.."

Yuy was taking too long. The point wasn't to talk Harth to death.

The vampire was a danger to everyone; let the rest of the compound talk over how to deal with the Joker to death, let the Alliance make the mistake of revealing its inner workings so that its hands were tied, unable to make any moves of significant impact.

Wufei was a Preventer, and sometimes, preventing a catastrophe meant taking part in another, more minor catastrophe. Even if Sally hated it, and was always telling him to prioritize human life. There was a point where the only solution was to euthanize the mad dog before it could bite anyone else.

He'd never taken a vow to not kill as Heero had. So he'd do what Heero could not.

At last finding a good open space between two trees, Wufei reached into his jacket and pulled his pistol from the hidden holster, very carefully sighting and taking aim.

His lips curled in a tiny malicious grin as he pulled the trigger.

Heero almost smirked at Harth's words. His life was not worth avenging. He opened his mouth to say so when the shot rang out; on pure instinct he took his gun off Harth and took aim at the source.

The shot hit it's mark, or, a mark. Harth took it in the chest, falling back into the snow. It took only moment's for him to recover, but he found himself remaining on the snow, the little water particles starting to stick to his skin.

He thought he might be stiff, after this. Perhaps he should have worn a coat? Harth turned his head to look over at Heero and just who he was going to shoot at now.

(The strike force is ready. Permission to step in here? Posting order Sylv & minions > Leon > Eko (from the previous thread) > Wufei > Heero > Harth. Sound okay?)

Sure. Just please give Harth a window of opportunity to escape, he will after all be able to see them coming.

(Oh I don't know about that. ~_^ Yes, Harth will be able to get away eventually since it has been preordained that he avoids capture/fakes death (either/or), but good luck spotting an elf ranger-captain, a freelance ex-cop in white stealth gear, and a fellow who spent the last few months surviving in a jungle. The skeletons are probably fairly non-stealthy though. I'll grant you that. You'll just have to see what happens.)
