He sat back, sobering in expression and manner as he did. "I doubt you want to talk about it but if you do I'm here." he said after a long pause. What else could he do? He remembered when Rachel had nightmares about Crane and that toxin, (his face, covered in maggots... it was-) he felt the same. She had always said 'just be there' and he did, as useless as it felt. He hoped that's something that they needed as well because it was all he could do. He wasn't Batman who could swoop in and save the day, or Quatre who could actually go in and sooth a mind somehow. He was the bait or the extra set of hands- or here, just existing. Maybe that really could be enough.
"Or if you want to talk about the weather. Either way the offer's the same." He said, forcing a half smile to her.

Harvey's presence and conversation was already helping; it distracted her and gave her something to focus on besides the thoughts in her head, which was all she'd had for the last several days. She accepted the soup gratefully, smiling a little. She was cold and hungry and soup sounded perfect. "Thanks," she said. It was a little strange, having people take care of her--bring her blankets and soup--back home, if something happened, yes people worried, but she lived by herself in a boarding school and no one--no adult, anyway--ever brought her soup and offered to listen if she wanted to talk. She blinked rapidly and busied herself with opening the thermos before managing a short nod.
"I... Thank you," she said quietly. She looked up at him and managed a small, if shaky, smile. "That--means a lot." She took a deep breath. "Maybe we stick to the weather for right now, though?" She wasn't ready to talk about it right now, but she had a feeling the time might come when she might need to.

He felt some relief when she took the soup - at least she had an appetite - and more when she managed a small smile. He smiled back, a little more sincerely than the normal ones he would throw around, nodding his head. "Not a problem, and that sounds fine. I can give you a comprehensive report on how great it is to freeze your ass off out there." he answered, smile shifting to a small smirk. "Or I could let you in on the mistletoe incident. It was a small amusement to say the least."

This place. Sometimes Cissie thought there wasn't any rhyme or reason to the people brought here--she thought of the Joker and shivered, not entirely from the cold.
