There was no sound for a minute before quite footsteps approached the door and there was a click as it was unlocked, and the door opened slightly before the footsteps retreated.

Noble Scarlet had convinced Skuld to let Gojyo in. She hadn't wanted to see...anyone. The person she trusted more than anyone BETRAYED her. And on top of everything else...

Skuld sat down and curled up at the corner of her bed, wrapped in a blanket, her hair a mess and her eyes red from tears, otherwise here expression was blank. She mostly felt hollow inside.

Gojyo frowned. Setting down the carton of strawberry ice cream on the floor where he was sure not to kick it, the redhead sat next to his roomie on the bed. She had obviously been crying but more than sad she looked broken, lost. What the fuck had happened while he was gone?

He wanted to ask Noble Scarlet but instead wrapped his arms around her, pulling the girl gently to lean against him. "Skuld? It's me, Gojyo. I'm here," he said quietly, not really sure if she was aware of his presence.

Skuld immediately clung to him, burying her head against his shoulder. She had been alone this whole time because...she hadn't known who to go to. Urd had to deal with Belldandy.

It was a relief she had someone to cling to now that he was here.

"Oh, hey, hey! Easy!" Gojyo said, but didn't try to pull her off. He shifted his arms so they went around less awkwardly around her, then rubbed her back soothingly. "Hey, it's OK," he murmured. "What's wrong? What happened?"

"It was her..." Skuld said weakly, her voice hoarse from crying, her tone pained.

"It was who? What was who?" Gojyo asked, not at all understanding what she was talking about. Maybe instead of ice cream he should have brought some water, too. Though he was glad she wasn't crying now, that would suck.

"Belldandy....mind control...demon Urd...so many things..." Skuld croaked, a dry sob leaving her throat. She wasn't going to cry again. She didn't have any tears left to cry.

And that made sense...not. This wasn't good at all and Gojyo swore to squeeze the story out of someone--even if he wasn't exactly sure who got involved and who he should ask.

"Uh...look, I got you some ice cream. Noble Scarlet said to bring some. You want some? Come on, let's get some," he said, almost rambling.

Skuld nodded slowly, moving away from him so he could move, keeping her head down.

He'd half-expected for her to keep on clinging...this was really fucked up now, wasn't it? Well, anyway...

Gojyo stood up from the bed to quickly grab the carton of ice cream from the floor, then sat back down beside her. "Here," he said, handing her one of the spoons he had had brought and opening the carton. "It's strawberry," he told her.

Skuld took the spoon and took the carton, eating a bite of the ice cream. She didn't really feel like it, but Noble Scarlet was worried about her energy levels. "Thanks..." She said quietly.

She really wasn't doing well in the least.

"You're welcome," he replied, sitting next to her uncomfortably. She didn't feel right to him. Something was terribly off and Gojyo had no idea what to do.

"Do-Do you want me to get you some water or something?" he asked, not really aware of how he was wringing his hands on top of his lap.

"I don't need water." Skuld said, leaning against him, slowly eating the ice cream. "...Gojyo...can..." She started, but trailed off again.

"Hmm?" Gojyo asked, pulling her closer and placing a large comforting hand against the side of her head. "Can what?"

"This." Skuld said, closing her eyes, curled up against him and into his hold. "...really like a brother..." She murmured.

"This what?" Gojyo asked, completely lost. Seeing her close her eyes, the redhead gently eased the spoon out of her hand and closed the carton of ice cream, setting both items aside. "Are you sleepy?"
