She jumped a bit, startled when she heard a knock on the door. She quickly wrapped a towel around herself. She didn't know what had happened, the only thing she knew was that she had finished cleaning up and then when she was stuck.

"It's safe." She called out, once the towel was secure.

And as soon as he heard the confirmation, Ling opened the door all the way and walked in. "So, you're stuck, huh?" he restated the obvious, looking around the bathroom to see if there was anything that might obviously be causing it.

No, he didn't look up toward the ceiling quite yet.

She nodded and proved her point by trying to move as if to leave the bathroom. She could only move just a few inches and then she was stuck. She didn't know what to do.

"I don't understand why I can't move."

"I don't either," Ling responded, still looking around. Her feet weren't glued to the ground or tied to it or anything like that, and it wasn't as though she was completely immobalized either. It was as though something was just forcing her to not leave the area by some non-physical means or something.

He continued to look around the room, looking for something that could have been doing something, before finally looking up... and pausing at that point.

"Huh," he noted. "There's some kind of plant or something on the ceiling. Was that always there?"

She blinked, looking up at the plant. She had never seen anything like that before.

"It wasn't there when I started my shower. I've never seen anything like it before."

"It's probably the cause of it, then," he stated, confident of that even though he was unsure what to make of the plant himself. After all, if the magic here was able to brainwash people or turn them into creatures with wings sprouting out of their ears, it could probably make a plant that would prevent people who walked under it from moving.

He reached behind the toilet and grabbed the plunger, holding it just above the rubbery part in order to poke at the plant with the handle, in an attempt to knock it down. Thankfully, he was rather tall for his age, and was therefore able to reach with just a little bit of an extra reach.

Alice just watched Ling as he poked at the plant. She had no idea what had caused something like this to happen but she didn't like it much. This wasn't right. She had just trying to clean up.

"Probably. It's probably just another one of the things that happen here."

Poking at the plant, unfortunately, was a rather fruitless endeavor - no matter how hard he poked (and he was poking to the best of his ability, given that even he had limited height - and therefore leverage - to work with), it didn't seem to want to budge at all.

Ling changed his footing ever-so-slightly, in order to be able to push at least a little bit harder on the plant, but in doing so, he... kind of lost his footing and, with a semi-instinctual "Woah!", fell on top of Alice.

Very, very elegant. Definitely the twelfth prince of Xing there, yep.

Alice yelped as Ling fell on top of her. It was a rather undignified squeak for the FullMetal Alchemist. At least she was still covered up. She blinked at Ling, who was probably getting a very good look at the scars on her shoulder.

"Ehehehe... sorry about that," Ling excused, pushing himself so that he was no longer on top of Alice (though, he couldn't seem to push himself too far... strange...), and his thoughts wandered briefly to the last time he had eaten, which was a while ago. No wonder he'd collapsed - he'd need to make himself something as soon as this was taken care of. Probably something for Alice, too, to make up for falling on top of her.

"Those scars on your shoulder - are they from when you got your automail?" Of course Ling had noticed them, but he was simply curious as to their origin. As long as he had a basic idea, he wouldn't prod too much.

She nodded, glancing at the scars where steel meet flesh. She was used to the scars, it was just another part of her. She didn't know what they were going to do about this. It was really awkward having Ling on top of her like this, but at least she was covered.

And with a small hum to let her know that he understood, Ling didn't press into that question further. He might not show it obviously all too often, but he did care about his friends' well-being, and if Alice was getting hurt, that wasn't a good thing. But if it was from the automail, then that was all right.

He sighed and turned his head up toward the ceiling. "Doesn't look like I'll be able to knock it down."

"I don't even know what kind of plant it is. I'm not sure I've seen it before." She said, looking up past Ling at the plant attached to the ceiling. She then looked at Ling.

"Have you read anything about it on the journals?"

"Actually, no," he admitted. "I saw your entry, but that's the only one I really noticed. But I think you may be on to something, with checking them."

After all, knowing this place, this probably wasn't an isolated incident; there were probably many of thse plants that had suddenly decided to appear, and possibly someone out there who would know what they were.

He reached for where he kept his communication device and pulled it out, scrolling through the entries, and quickly finding what he needed. "Ah, here we are. It's apparently called 'mistletoe', and..."

...Well, that would be awkward.

"And what?" She asked. She couldn't think of any plant that shared a name with this one in their world. She couldn't see his device, after all, she was in a rather awkward position.

Ling laughed a little bit awkwardly. "And, according to this, it's enchanted in such a way that it won't go away unless someone stuck under it kisses someone."
