Characters:AU Duo Maxwell OU Wufei Chang Where:The park When:During the day Summary:Duo encounters Wufei Warnings: Two teenage boys who are polar opposites, so conflict, probably.
The blue and white coat that Winner had provided for him -- if anything at all could be trusted of what Duo had told him -- was draped over a low branch, having been discarded long past as Wufei worked himself into a sweat.
The Chinese boy was tired of thinking, he was tired of talking and being told ridiculous things and most of all tired of discovering that nothing at all was what he expected. And when there was little he had expected in the first place, that was unfortunate indeed
( ... )
Duo started thinking as soon as he heard the crunch of snow under heel. He slowed and stopped, spotting a body, no, a familiar face only five yards away under a tree. Wufei, the new guy.
He flashed back to that speech he'd bared in New Edwards, how Wufei knew about the scheme cooked up to kill the alliance pacifists. That being the first and last time he ever saw the pilot of the Shenlong. Atleast, as a boy, the girl ont he other hand? Well, he hadn't met her yet either, aside from the communication devices..
Wufei did not recognize the interloper until he spoke, and when that familiar voice rose in the air, his eyes narrowed.
The voice was right. The face was right. The way he moved was right. The hair was wrong, all wrong, but there was no mistaking who this person was. Duo Maxwell. Only not. This must, then, be the 'other' that the first, the one who claimed to be the one he knew, had spoken of.
The last person he wanted to talk to right now was another Duo Maxwell.
"Of course you did," he said, irritated condescension in his voice as he straightened from his stance. "I was the one who announced my presence in the first place."
Duo snorted, "Funny, Wise guy..." Duo replied, "What's next? an 'I see' pun?" A bad joke, sarcasm at best, really, but still. He crossed his arms, mostly for warmth.
