Siegfried typed away at the PDA while Takion sat on the couch and threaded piece after piece of popcorn. It was a quiet sort of activity which Siegfried could ignore, although Takion's cheerful humming of Christmas carols was slightly more difficult. It also proved slightly more infectious than the author's attempts at cajoling the young businessman into helping with the decorations. Every now and then, Siegfried found himself absently humming along.
What Siegfried busied himself with, held his attention to the extent that he could tune out wayward humming. Having carefully extracted the chip from a spare copy of "Sanctuary in the Sky," Siegfried had installed it into the PDA and was currently working on making the PDA do what it was not meant to do - completely alter the visuals of a card. He'd had some luck working with changing monster commands, however the PDA was not meant for graphic editing. This meant that instead of editing with a paint program, he was working through each individual line of code. While he might not be able to draw a room from his family castle decked out for the holidays, Siegfried could certainly program one. In this, he was an artist.
Takion's cultured voice broke through Siegfried's concentration on the rows of numbers on the screen. "Whatever are you doing over there? I've not seen you that intent on anything but your wardrobe, dear boy. If you choose to answer, please answer with as little technical speak as possible. It is as Greek to me as the language of Athens. Maybe moreso."
Glancing up, Siegfried gave the other man a vaguely irritated glance. But the interruption was done and there was no undoing it. "To put it most simply, since I cannot go home for the holidays, I intend to bring home here."
That seemed to pique Takion's interest. Fort he first time, the string of popcorn was set down. "Really? I'm sure that will be an interesting trick."
Deciding that a demonstration would be better than an explanation, Siegfried saved his work and removed the card chip from the PDA. The chip returned to the card from which he'd taken it. Then Siegfried placed his Duel Disk on his arm and activated it. After that, it was a simple matter to play the altered field spell.
The holographic room that appeared still lacked many details, but there was no denying it was a room from a castle. A fireplace crackled cheerfully. The only remnants of the original card that Siegfried had yet to wipe away were the airy clouds drifting past.
Takion clapped in delight. "Now make it a gingerbread house!"
