[Thread] Here Econtra...

Dec 07, 2008 12:58

Characters: OU Tony Stark/Iron Man, OPEN
Where: anywhere near the cemetery/church area, and one of the open lots on that side of Econtra
When: after Pepper's disappearance
Summary: After spending the entire morning searching for his beloved Pepper Potts and not finding her, Stark dons his IM suit and goes on an emo-trinsic rampage.
Warnings: He is very upset. He is in his Iron Man suit. There will be destruction. (I'll try to keep the building collateral to a minimum.)

He had searched everywhere. First on foot in simplistic clothing of the normal sort, bundled up as 'cutely' as he could manage to get a smile or maybe even a small laugh out of his former PA for his ridiculous (and child-like) looking appearance. But she hadn't been in her room, and she hadn't been in any of her other usual spots. That was when he began to grow worried. On his second try he donned the Iron Man suit and flew low to the ground in his search around the entire compound. He hadn't found her, and his suit wouldn't lock onto her PDA's unique signal. That was when he started to grow desperately frantic.

He checked her room once more, nearly taking the front door off it's hinges as he entered with a loud stomp and forceful purpose. She wasn't there--and worse, neither was any of her belongings. How had he missed that before? There was... nothing. She was...

gone.

He bellowed in an outrage, and he knew his PDA picked it up and didn't care. Let the compound know that they had an enraged Iron Man ready to wreak havoc on anyone who got in his way. His way of what? YES.

For a brief moment his mind flashed to a good friend of his who was no longer with them. Persephone. Now he knew how she had truly felt. He had forgotten this emotion. Now he embraced it's prickly pain and threw it around his shoulders like a warm cloak. He wrapped himself in his grief and laughed manically through the monotonous sounds of the Iron Man's voice. It was altogether an eerie, frightful sound.

He would not take his own advice and remain calm through this moment. He would not seek out his friends. He knew what it was like again to be all alone and he wanted to remain that way for a long time. He didn't even realize it until he arrived, but unconsciously his body directed him to the cemetery in a slow hovering flight. He briefly thought about blasting the tombstones to dust with his Repulsor rays, maybe a missile or two, but he reeled in the idea. What had the dead ever done to him? Besides leave him on his own... No. They didn't deserve his wrath. He wouldn't do it.

But the building next to him wasn't so lucky. He set off a brief blast of the Repulsor rays on a medium setting. Plaster rained down onto the sidewalk. He held his hand out as if to strike again but remained floating, motionless, for quite some time instead.
