Not five minutes before, Dr. Temperance Brennan had found what appeared to be a restaurant. The interior was dimly lit, but Brennan didn't need a lot of light to wash her hands. She'd crossed the floor to the back where there were two sinks, she used her left hand to turn on the water, testing it.

Initially, it was freezing, so Temperance twisted the left knob on, turning on the hot water. Searching for soap of some kind, Brennan found none, so she contented herself with scrubbing at her palm, scouring her skin with the nails of her left hand.

It stung, but she welcomed the pain. It kept her alert, kept her mind sharp. When she heard the door open, she turned her head, piercing blue eyes widening at the sight of "Booth!" She closed the distance between them, throwing her arms around his neck, hugging him tightly. Not a half hour before, she had been pressing her palm against his chest, trying to stop his bleeding. Now, here he was.

"Bones!" he exclaimed, relieved, but easily wary of her presence here. More so, was her reaction so his presence. Yes, they had a close connection, as partners, but.. Oh why not. He wrapped his arms around under her arms and gave her a gentle squeeze. She was hurting, after all, what with her mother's bones and her father's ominous call, and it was the right thing to do.

He waited until she loosened her grip before pulling away himself, looking into her eyes, giving her a steady expression, that if prompted, would transform into his ready smile. Suffice to say, he was happy to see her.. As a friend, familiar face..

Nothing more.

"You're the genius, what are the odds this is all just a dream?"

"You're...you're all right," Temperance said, her blue eyes wide with shock as she lifted her hand to his chest, pressing at the place where he'd been shot.

Her mouth opened and closed as she shook her head, her dark locks brushing against her shoulders. "The odds of this being a shared dream? Slim to none, Booth. Multiple people dreaming the same exact dream at the same time has not been proven scientifically."

She wanted to hug him again but she fought the urge. "How long have you been here, Booth?"

"Just fine Bones.. What's going on?" he asked, quirking a brow, then letting them fall, his face falling deadpan.

Her response to his inane inquiry was one he expected, so he shrugged, but nodded to acknowledge her.

"Roughly Twenty hours."

"Longer than me," Brennan murmured, her brow furrowing with confusion. "How could that be if I was just...." She shook her head, trying to block the image of Booth's blood leaking between her fingers.

Suffice to say, she was happy he was there. He'd been such a huge part of her life for the past three years, she couldn't imagine being in this place without him.

Booth found that strange enough, in some ways it was reminiscent of their working relationship. On a case, the FBI usually got first word, or arrived on the scene before the squints did. He eyed her a moment, his dark eyes locked on hers, noting the cold expression that just for a moment shown worry, and maybe even pain. With Bones, though, he couldn't be sure.

"What were you just?" he asked, offering a slight, reassuring smile. It was all he could do here, now.

Brennan nodded, glancing down at her watch. She'd looked at it when she'd arrived. "It's been approximately fifteen to twenty minutes," Temperance replied to her partner. "Have you been able to contact anyone?" Brennan asked, pulling the PDA from her pocket. "I haven't been able to contact Angela, Hodgins, or Camille."

Booth grimaced, pulling out his own PDA, "Phone's dead, and I haven't heard from the squints, No." In all seriousness, Brennan would have been the one he called first, and low and behold.

Wait.. "Camille? Who.. Whose that, exactly?"

Brennan tilted her head to the side as she looked up at her partner. "Dr. Camille Saroyan? Head of the forensics department at the Jeffersonian. Are you feeling alright, Booth? Are you feeling any side-effects from the transfer? Dizziness? Nausea? Hallucinations?"

"Bones.. heh.." he offered only the most serious, yet confused expression and tone he could muster. "There's no forensics department at the Jefferson.. At best that stuff is in early development. I just only heard about it a few weeks ago. And I'm not sick."

That name though, he's seen that name somewhere.. came up, probably in one of those fascinating conversations with Dr. Goodman.

Temperance frowned a little. Of course there was a Forensic Department at the Jeffersonian. There'd been one since the summer of 2006. And Booth had had a personal history with Dr. Saroyan. From what she'd heard, they'd known each other over ten years.

"I didn't say you were. I was wondering if you were suffering from any possible side-effects from being transported here."

Slipped his mind. Camille wasn't exactly on the top of his mind, but fact that Brennan mentioned her showed him she was telling the truth, or at least, the truth as she believed it.

"Might be right.. Amnesia? I know what you're talkin about, I just.. Don't remember any forensics department, let alone Camille being there.."

The frowned that marred Brennan's pretty features seemed to deepen a fraction as she was deep in thought. "As unbelievable as this is, do you believe it's possible that we were...pulled from different points in time?"

It was ridiculous, but being at the Checkerbox club, pressing her hand to Booth's bleeding chest one minute, then standing in a park in the middle of winter throws up a red flag for unnatural situations.

Booth didn't want to believe it. He nodded. "I haven't over looked that either, Bones." he admitted. "Someone told me that people have doubles running around this joint.. Like twins. If that's possible? Evidence is leaning towards that.... theory."

Dr. Brennan's dark locks shifted back and forth on her shoulders as she shook her head. "This place gets increasingly more maddening by the minute."

Temperance crossed her arms beneath her breasts, looking over at Booth. The image of his blood leaking between her fingers flashed before her eyes and her brow furrowed.

"I'll say." He said, eyes trained on his partner. He let his expression fall deadpan, his brow raised only slightly. He knew her well, well enough to know how she acted and the meaning of her mannerisms. This one kinda threw him off, and that's why he let his own expression falter. He was confused.

"Okay, doesn't take a genius to figure out you're upset about something. Out with it, Bones, what's up?"
