Characters: AU!Otogi Ryuuji, OPEN Where: The park When: Afternoon, before dark Summary: Otogi's in the mood to amuse himself. Be afraid. Warnings: Animated snowballs that go "rawr" at people.
Mosquiton had never minded cold weather much. He was pretty resilient to most things, ranging from low temperatures to bullets. The worst thing about snow, as far as he was concerned, was the way it reflected the light. At the moment, however, he was safely shielded by his sunglasses and was simply enjoying how clean and white everything looked. It actually took him a moment to notice that something was chewing on his arm.
"Hey, where'd you come from?" he demanded.
The snowball went, "Rawr, rawr, rawr," which wasn't very informative.
Otogi grinned when he saw one of his little toys chewing on some guy. It wasn't someone he knew, but that covered a lot of people in Econtra. "Having some trouble there?" he asked innocently, trying not to grin in such a way to make it obvious that he was in any way connected to the snowball currently chewing on the stranger.
The snowball apparently didn't care. All it said was "Rawr!" and kept on chewing.
Otogi still managed to keep himself from snickering. "I think it looks like it's having fun," he replied solemnly. "There can't be too much that a snowball can do for kicks after all."
"That's probably true," Mosquiton admitted. He made an experimental attempt to pry the snowball off. It bounced back up and started chewing in a different location. He sighed. "It's a good thing Yuki isn't here. She'd want to keep it as a pet."
"Friend of yours?" Otogi assumed. He would have petted one of his toys, but that would give the game away far too soon. This guy didn't look as if he'd be scared of them though. Not that Otogi was particular about the reactions he got.
Ice elemental? Otogi wondered if there were such things in his world. All he knew of were his relatives...and there was a gold mine or two of information that they hadn't told him about.
"Sounds interesting. Never heard of one of those before." One of the other snowballs bounced along...and promptly settled on his shoulder. It wouldn't chew on him, though. Unless he specifically ordered them to, none of his creations would hurt him. With the possible exception of Red Eyes Darkness plushie.
"There's a fire elemental, too," Mosquiton said. "They're really more like teenaged children most of the time. Always complaining that the weather is too hot or too cold."
"That's the downside of immortality, you know," said Mosquiton musingly. "Spending the rest of eternity with a couple of teenagers who will never grow up. But you get used to having them around after the first couple of centuries."
"Oh, you're immortal?" Otogi knew that djinn lived much longer than humans, but from what he had learned from his few contacts with his family, his own lifespan, as a half-breed, would be much closer to the human side of the scale.
"Kind of. More or less," said Mosquiton, a bit sheepishly. "Unless something kills me. That's not exactly the easiest thing to do. So I'll probably be hanging around for a long time."
"I've got some relatives who are like that. Probably not for the same reason you are though. I'm not sure if they even are immortal or just are going to live a really long time. We don't talk that much."
"Hey, where'd you come from?" he demanded.
