Craning his neck around the side of the building just enough to catch a brief glimpse of the approaching white-haired girl and the formidable-looking man on the other side of the street behind her, Lelouch drew back for a moment and weighed the situation. There were people living in this place. Now the question in his mind was whether he was trapped in an illusion or an actual physical Britannian compound.

The truth would not be difficult to expose; if they were actual real sentient beings, they would easily succumb to the effects of his geass. If they were illusions, however, his geass would be ineffective on them.

As Ryoko reached the edge of the building on the side of which Lelouch had taken cover, he slid in one quick motion out of the shadows at her, looping an arm around her neck and pressing a pistol to her temple, making sure that the man on the other side of the street saw, and pulled her back into the alley with him. In the quick moment it took for him to snatch her, he'd noticed that a few more people had emerged onto the street in back of the man, but it didn't matter. All the better for uncovering answers.

Eyes trained not on the girl, but straight forward in a blank glare, he had her crouch down with him back against the wall again and spoke to her in a low tone.

"With whom do your loyalties lie?" he asked simply.

Ryoko let out a small yelp as she felt something cold press against her temple. She had dropped the Lady of Faith when she was grabbed and she stared up at Lelouch.

"My loyalties? They lie with my friends." She said, glancing at the plush for a second. The Lady of Faith stood there watching them confused.

"Absrud!"

The barrel pressed harder on her skull as a muscle above his lip twitched in irritation at what was surely a taunt at his personal grievances. Friendship..

He was admittedly slightly disturbed by the presence of a walking doll, but quickly dismissed it along with everything else -just another attempt to distract him. But they wouldn't have the chance to distract him again. No, he would distract them.

In a graceful, fluid motion, Lelouch raised a hand up to his left eye and candidly lifted the purple contact away from it to reveal an eerily gleam-less orb infused with a geass sigil glowing bright red around a shrunken pupil. He grasped the girl's jaw with one hand and turned her eyes to meet with his.

"Lelouch vi Britannia commands you...scream 'All hail Nippon!' at the top of your lungs for five minutes straight."

Smirking, he turned her back around, releasing her from his poisonous gaze, and nudged her back out into the street.

Ryoko winced as the gun barrel was pressed harder into her skull. That hurt.

"It's hardly absurd." She muttered as her head was turned and her eyes meet Lelouch's. She didn't know what possessed her, but she only nodded slightly as she stood in the street, yelling.

"ALL HAIL NIPPON!"

It was the same thing, repeated over and over as loud as she could until she figured that the five minutes had gone by.
