Characters: OU Dom Santiago, OPEN
Where: the park
When: early evening
Summary: Dom is sulking in the park shortly after arriving and being told he's been drafted for yet another war.
Warnings: None hopefully; I'll try not to lay down any spoilers just yet. >_>

Another war. As if the original one--the one he lost his brother to--wasn't bad enough. As if the one after that wasn't! Three wars in one lifetime was simply just too much. Dom couldn't believe he was going through this. This was all just some bizarre dream, right? But it didn't feel or otherwise seem like a dream, and it wasn't quite how he remembered most of his dreams playing out. So--

Dom threw his Lancer on the ground next to a tree and sat down heavily next to it. Forget the proper maintenance. He didn't give a damn right now. It probably didn't even matter anyway! He was in a brand new shiny war and, hey, who knew?, maybe they had adequate supplies and it wouldn't matter if one less gun was available. Maybe he wouldn't be fighting with "guns" anyway. The hell if he knew anything... as usual.

The most blatantly 'dream-state' point in this whole encounter so far was how it began: one minute he was in the King Raven with Marcus and Baird, the next he was in a white room with a recorded video of some dude telling him what the heck supposedly just happened. Drafted. Conscripted. For another damn war.

He had never been conscripted for anything in his life before. No--Dom had thrown himself into the COG army almost before they would even legally accept his age. He had lived and breathed being a soldier. A commando. A Gear.

Now he would give anything to be back home and contemplating what happens after a war is over.

For the first time he truly believed it was happening. Even after all that had happened to him... even though--

"Damnit!" he yelled, throwing his fist onto the ground in his anger. He scowled and then he just felt like crying for a little while and then he scowled again until finally his face settled into something in between an upset grimace and a sorrowful sight. He sighed and slumped further into the tree at his back.

There was no Marcus here. There was no Delta. There was no--anything. He didn't want to be here. What would happen to--?
