[Thread] Pie Delivery?

Summary: Ned responds to a request for a pie delivery, only to discover that he wasn't quite prepared to meet the ones who ordered it.

The Piemaker did not go on deliveries, in his own world. It had been one of the few luxuries he had allowed himself even when the Pie Hole was close to financial suicide. He baked the pies with all his heart, put them in their boxes and sent them off into the world. There was no need for him to ever leave the kitchen.
It wasn't that he was a coward, either. He faced plenty of things in his work as a private detective that were much more daunting then delivering a pie. The difference lay between danger and awkwardness. The whole point of the delivery system was that the customers could have his pies without having to see him, if they wanted.
It was hardly an option now that he was here. So, with the raspberry-lemon pie (with a latticed honey-and-lemon crust) tucked into its makeshift box, and his coat tightly fastened, Ned set out from his apartment to find the recipient. He was not so comfortable making a venture out at night in this place, to the apartment of someone he knew nothing about, after the vague warnings that had been floating around him about his fellow kidnappees.
Once he had located the right door he knocked, taking a few steps back, holding the pie in front of him with both hands.
"Pie delivery?"
