Granted, he was worried that she may have tricked him, but he tried to keep himself from running back to his communicator. He knew that if he even made one message on it, any chance of Belldandy coming for him would've been lost.
So he stayed away.
And after days of wandering the park, Belldandy approached him. However, he couldn't help but feel... angry, at her voice. From the beginning, Belldandy had been an extremely kind person, and he could practically feel Skuld's adoration for her older sister. He never questioned it.
But to find the person Skuld adored so much turn into this... it made him sick to his stomach. It made him wonder how Belldandy could've used that trust to completely toy with Skuld.
Like Juno. Like Sera.
Rock glanced back, glaring at the goddess while keeping his anger in check. "..." And that was when he realized he didn't even know how to address her. Should he greet her? Should he threaten her? He didn't know, but... he didn't want to even talk to her.
He just wanted to stop her.

Right now, he wasn't dealing with Belldandy. He was dealing with another person who jsut wanted to cause pain and suffering.
And if he had to, he'd fight that person.

"No,"
However, it only lasted for a second. It was then that rock began to turn, facing the goddess. His Buster wasn't summoned, so whether he was actually planning to fight or not could've been left up for speculation.
That speculation flew out the window when he revealed that the Shining Laser had been summoned all along however. And was now currently aimed at the goddess' head. "I didn't!" He spat out.
And then he fired.
He knew full well it wouldn't hit. But that didn't mean it wasn't going to do it's job.

If he was planning something, she wouldn't let him carry it out.

Instinctively, Rock cut the laser short and rolled to the side. Despite the armor, his reflexes were surprisingly quick, as was his sharp mind when it came to life-threatening situations. He blamed Roll in part for the latter, but he didn't necessarily think of that as a bad thing.
Once he finished his roll, he landed on one knee, Buster Gun summoned on his other arm, and immediately aimed at Belldandy. "Sera was supposed to be a Goddess!" He yelled out, the cylinder of his buster glowing before it began to fire. "And I beat her!"

Fortunately, thanks to the space his metal backpack created between the ground and his armor, the back of his head didn't strike the ground.
Instead, he raised his feet and let the wind roll his body back some more, causing him to once more land on his feet, with his knees bend and his hands nozzles pressed onto the ground. Anchoring himself against the wind further, he even started his jet skates, the wheels pushing him forward and the wind blew him back, keeping him perfectly in place.
The only problem was that he couldn't attack.

Whether it actually worked or not, Rock didn't get to find out anytime soon. In fact, even if it didn't work, the fact that Rock let go of the ground and let the gust of wind carry him probably helped him dodge the blasts.

He was angry due to the growing odds stacked against him, but he was determined due to just who exactly it was he was fighting to save.
As the blasts got closer, Rock started his jet skates and blasted along the ground, riding directly underneath the blasts. If he'd timed this right, then the blasts would've tried to arc behind him and follow him, but due to the little room he left for them to arc in, they'd just explode on the ground.

"The air pressure will start to decrease soon, Rock. Tell me, do you still need to breathe like a human?" Belldandy asked.

The first hint Rock got of what Belldandy had done came in his attempt to actually speak. Or, more accurately, his failed attempt. With no air actually getting into his lungs, it made Rock's determination waver, to a point where panic began to creep up.
Not that he let it be shown, but at the same time, it was hard to actually hide it.
He wanted to be strong, for Skuld, for John, for all his friends here, for his family back home. But what if he couldn't? What if he died, right here? He knew from the start that there wasn't really anything he could do, and yet he went anyway. He knew it, but he ignored it. He knew he could die, but he ignored it for the sake of one of his closest friends.
And yet, he still wasn't regretting having done that.
Just like he knew he stood no chance against Belldandy, he also knew that he'd die for his friends without a second thought. So with his last breath (possibly literally), Rock glanced up at this person who used to be Belldandy, who used to be Skuld's loving and caring sister.
And he fired. Buster Gun and Shining Laser, he fired. He fired until he couldn't fire anymore.
But he fired.
