[Thread] What's Coming To You

Nov 14, 2008 09:40

Characters: OU!Jing, OPEN (tag on entry)
Where: Various places
When: During the Belldandy plot, post the meeting, about a day after Selphie's announcement and his own post
Summary: With the cat out of the bag and the whole compound aware he's the thief who destroyed people's precious things, there's not a whole lot of places Jing can stay out of sight. That orange coat? So not camouflage. And some of those people are looking for retribution...
Warnings: Lots of really pissed people? New character, new comment line unless you're purposely ganging up on him. :) Oh, and please put the location where each mini!thread takes place in the subject line, thanks!

Returning to Ast-Tessera was out of the question, obviously. Persephone was there and he didn't want to out his roommate in a bad position. Reflecting, however, he realized that he may not have thought this little venture all the way through.

He'd known what he was doing, of course. When it came to stealing he always knew what he was doing. The replacing the stolen items with debris intended to look like he'd destroyed said items had been and even better challenge, and it had largely seemed to work as planned. The real items, of course, were stored somewhere he highly doubted anyone would look, at least not before the ruse ended -- hopefully.

And he couldn't say this little deception hadn't been without merit. He'd been granted his audience with Belldandy, and although she didn't trust him (he didn't blame her, he wasn't even sure he trusted him) she had decided to humour him and that was about as good as he was going to get, Jing figured. What pricked at the back of his mind the most, however, were little bits of their conversation. Despite his chosen profession, Jing was not a liar by nature. He could lie, and he could lie very well, but he was much more suited to telling the truth. And when lying to a goddess, the best lie often was the truth.

I didn't lie. I missed this. Not just the stealing, but oh I did miss that. But the thrill of it; the risk. And I really don't want things to go back to the way they were before. Win or lose the game just can't stop now.

But he wasn't the only player in this game now, and he was about to meet his opponents.
