For the outsider, the idea of what exactly a zanpakutou was might have been a concept too esoteric to hope to understand. A sword with sentience? But maybe for her there might have been a chance of understanding, somewhat, if she were to ever be presented with the topic.

Currently, Yuusei made her way through the park. It had been getting colder, but that had not deterred her from pursuing some kind of occasional physical activity to still her mind if even for a moment. It was also a great way of relieving some of the mounting stress that had no other outlet.

When she was within a respectable distance of the pond, she slowed down just a bit to observe the redhead sitting there, wondering what she could have been doing. The sword in the other's lap piqued her, for she had not seen a traditional katana in many years. The girl's peculiar raiment, along with the sword, led her to muse about what time she may have been from.

Orihime's eyes opened as she heard steps approaching. She didn't like being disturbed, but so far she hadn't been able to learn anything yet. She blinked up at Yuusei for a moment before a friendly smile slowly appeared on her face. "Good Morning." She said.

She didn't bother trying to stand up, at least, right now. "This looks a bit odd, doesn't it?" She said, her head tilted to the side a little bit.

Yuusei was quiet for a time, simply observing the other girl with what might have been curiosity. Then, softly, she made a small gesture with her left hand. "Morning."

A few more moments passed in which she was still. She really wasn't all that concerned about whether or not she was bugging Orihime, though maybe she should have been...just a bit. As for the sight of the sword, she had to admit that it definitely was not normal from where she was from, but in her short time here she had already learned that nothing really constituted as odd.

"...A bit. I've seen stranger, here."

She nodded. "There are stranger things in this place." The Shinigami Student smiled at Yuusei. Orihime was a friendly person by nature and despite what had happened, she wasn't going to deny her own nature.

"I'm Inoue Orihime." She said, finally introducing herself.

"Mmm..."

Yuusei was, admittedly, taken a bit off guard by the sudden introduction. By no means convivial, she was not exactly unfriendly, but nor was she vulnerable. Rather, as a good judge on character, she was more reserved. Nonetheless, she nodded at Orihime. "Fudou Yuusei. It's a pleasure."

Then, taking a few steps forward, "what exactly...are you doing?"

"I'm trying to see if I can find the name of my Zanpakuto." She said, motioning to the sword in her lap. "I'm training to become a Shinigami." She added a moment later.

She looked out at the pond for a moment before looking back over at Yuusei. "Each Zanpakuto has it's own name, I'm just trying to find the name of mine."

"Ah..." She paused a moment, reflecting on how...different things had to be for the two of them. She was interested, however, in learning more, more about circumstances that might have been better than how her world had turned out. "Is the name hidden?"

"Mine has yet to tell me it's name. Once I know it I can unlock more of it's power." She said. "I'm training to become a Shinigami. It could take me years to find out it's name. But with the cuffs gone...I figured now would be a good time to at least try."

"Oh...What exactly is a Shinigami, anyway?" she asked quietly, her head tilted. She was becoming quite curious now, especially with the idea of a vocation tied to a living, developing sword. Obviously, certain parallels were being drawn in her mind.

"A Shinigami is..." She thought for a moment. "We make sure that the spirits of the dead make it to Soul Society. We also purify Hollows, which are evil spirits." She explained. "At least, that is what the Shinigami from my world do."

Yuusei nodded to show that she was listening and following, even if she was a bit overwhelmed. Death was not something she had thought about too often, after all, even with the circumstances she had come from. For in Satellite, thinking about death was a luxury that one really never indulged in. Death came when it came.

"Ah, sounds like quite a job...though, there are more than...one function for a Shinigami?"
