Summary: Cat's gone a-prowling, who will he find?
Warnings: Cat has a tendency to appear and disappear, and the personality-switch may catch you unawares? Otherwise, none.

Cat had been serious for too, too long. He did not like it, trapped as he was in the darkness of the old days, the dark days, the bleeding days. But it had been useful after waking up as alive as he'd ever been, so much better to build up his mind, bricks and mortar, one by one, from a sound mind rather than a scattered.

And so he had finally ventured forth, tip-toed, slip-sloed, and padded out into the outside. No more hiding. The dogs of war had gone belling, but for now, just for the littlest time, they'd gone quiet. Just enough for one little Cat to find his way to the park, all dressed up in dead, dying colors, swish-swish, gone, gone, gone. Soon they'd grow as skeletal as Cat had grown.

There were so many people around here. Some a little cracked and cracking, some a little chipped and glued all up good as new, put a bandage on it so the cracks don't show, but they couldn't hide them from Cat. He paused and looked here, there, everywhere. The Red Queen had begun as nothing more than a girl too, once. Who was to know, who was to know? Axes and tentacles were not the only things to fear, not in the Outside.

Still. He swished his skeletal tail and padded forwards, blinking out of existence and reappearing neatly in quite a different place, padding comfortably along the side of a wall. He knew no one here. Alice was here, somewhere, but Cat couldn't find her anymore. Alice was lost, gone, missing, but Cat was calling and sometime, soontime, eventually Alice would hear him calling. Wonderland couldn't die forever.
