The Batman was out that night. Of course, he was out every night. But tonight was one of those that fell into the time-period in which he was full costume for two, almost three, days straight. Yes, even during the day. He was probably invited to the meeting being held tonight, but though he may have known about it, he was not going to bother. Reason number one was the obvious: large groups weren't his style. Reason number two was a bit more personal: he was still in "brood-mode" and hiding from the rest of the world. Reason number two was just as much unconscious as it was a conscious effort.

The night time was always when he felt better though, and it lightened his mood ever-so-slightly. Not enough for anyone to notice, but he always liked prowling around his city. Econtra wasn't his, it wasn't Gotham, but he could make it his, make it close enough in the fact that he vowed to protect its citizens. And he was prowling now, in the dead of night, in his temporary city

It was way creepier then Duo had counted on. It was fine last year. Small small little complex, save for the unruly costume Halloweeny transformations, it was a lot better to just walk around. Duo didn't really like the cold either. Make him tense and rigid, and made his ears hurt. Nothing like it was in the colonies.

He kept walking down the road, turning left into the main street and letting his teeth chatter as wind blew at him, putting a chill down his spine.
Maybe he should have just stayed inside today?

The next line of buildings had a bit of a gap in them that made for a nice alley. Something like that wasn't a worry for him; he could easily jump it. But it happened to be a very nice place to hide for an ambush for anyone down on the street.

He flitted down to the alleyway to check all the nooks and crannies that were good hiding spots and places he couldn't necessarily see from above. Nothing, but the effort wasn't a wasted one as he considered it.

Before Duo made his way past this particular street section the Bat moved up closer to the edge of the alley. He stayed in the shadows and out of obvious sight, but was barely in the alley itself now.

Duo had an eye for detail, especially in the dark. He was a master of stealth himself. He heard the wind blowing against something that seemed like... plastic? Rubber? It was unnatural, and slight. He looked to his left where he heard it, his brows knit.

"Someone there?" he asked.

One moment Wufei was in bed, having the worst nightmare of her life (even including the ones she had in the weeks after her colony blew up), the next she was coming to against the cold bricks of one of the buildings, sweating despite being outdoors in bare feet and silk pajamas, her stomach turning unpleasantly, shaking hard like she had been ill for a long time.

She blinked. That dream...

She straightened up and began to make her way towards the main street, not really looking where she was going.

Neither was Duo. He was kind of getting freaked out, considering how creepy the town looked normally. Okay.. Stop thinking about it, it ain't that big of deal. Duo wasn't one to get afraid like this. He stopped walking for a moment, letting his eyes scan around in the shadowy darkness before walking a few yards again and turning the corner.

Aaaand that's when he walked into someone.. Great way to round up a day, piss someone up. He stood over the body, looking down at.. at.. her? "Hey!"

Wufei came around the corner only to collide with someone, instantly losing her balance and landing hard on the pavement. She blinked at the voice, looking up at... "Maxwell?" she asked in a ghost of her normal tone.

"Wufei.. Hey" He said, trailing off a moment. He snatched her hand and tugged her to stand. "I thought you were gone."

Not long after she finished her dinner, Melaka'd dressed, meaning 'yanked on a hoodie and slid her boots on', then exited the apartment through the bedroom window, glad they lived on the ground floor. Shoving her hands into her hoodie pockets, the vampire slayer exhaled slowly, her breath appearing before her mouth, before disappating mere seconds later.

Up ahead, she saw her roommate and a small smirk crossed her face and she sped up as best she could without making any sounds. The wind whipped at her hair, and she made a face then stopped, thinking twice about her plan. Might as well just walk over to him. No need gettin' even colder.

He heard her approaching only after she stopped, her steps crackling from the dry leaves on the ground. He turned to meet her and nodded, remaining where he was at the edge of the plaza. He was watching the glimmering light against the water of the fountain. He considered her approach for a moment, looking at he thoughtfully before giving her a knowing glance. Won't work, sweetheart..

"Get bored at the pep meeting?"

Mel flashed him a smirk that said 'could you blame me?' then looped her arm with his, heading over to the fountain, and sitting down. "Didn't even bother with it, really. Made myself some dinner then hightailed it outta there. What was up with the weird smoke in the spacesuit?" Melaka asked, arching an eyebrow, giving him a 'what the fuck' face.

Duo shrugged as he was lead to the fountain, glad it had been turned off.
The gundam pilot turned closed his eyes and smirked "Sometimes it's best not to ask.."

The whistling that passed Ickis's lips was deliberately off-key, suiting the little creature's tastes perfectly. Things seemed to have calmed down since "The Incident" (as he called it in his head). Some of the goodies Aerith had given him were molding up nicely, and soon would be perfect for snacking on. He was getting better with Looming. Life, to this little monster, was good.

He enjoyed the last of his dinner, a tin can filled with something that had gone absolutely putrid, as he walked back in the direction of his and Morgana's apartment. Little did he know that he was on a potential collision course with a human.

Okay, that was.. actually pretty creepy. Duo winced at the whistling sound as he idly walked about. He didn't really expect to walk into a two, three foot tall little creature either. He turned the corner and, well, near tripped right over the little one. He stepped around and over and turned around. "Oh.. Hey!" Last time he met one of those animal creatures.. well.. things didn't work out.

Respect respect respect..

"Hi?"

The little creature in question stopped his whistling, blinking up at the human that had nearly stumbled over him. (That's what he got for not watching where he was going!)

He tilted his head to one side, an ear flopping over slightly and giving him the appearance of an over-sized, mutated rabbit.

Of course, this image was completely shattered as he chewed the last of the can, swallowed, and said with a fanged smile, "Hi!"

Creepy was a good word to describe this thing.. Yeah.. totally. It was eating a can. Ouch.

He reached down to offer a hand to shake. "Name's Duo.. What.. Who are you..?"

There was something ominous about wandering around at this hour. Lyle shuffled, clutching at a bag of stuff he'd brought from his room and walking briskly towards the first building. Naoki had asked him to stay with him for a few days, but a few days meant he was left running between his own room and his temporary residence if he needed anything.

So now, clothes and books underhand, he made his way back, invisible out of habit.

That is, until he noticed a slightly familiar figure in the dark. He and Duo had been introduced, sure, but hadn't talked since. Fading back into view slowly, not wanting to scare the other guy, he nodded politely when Duo finally noticed him. "Hi."

Duo turned his head to the other guy who seemed to just suddenly appear. He squinted slightly, supposing that most people were just bored as hell, or something, since he had been approached now by three strangers, if you counted Joker. The stupid bastard.. No.. four.. Batman as well.

"Hey."

He brought up the duffel to clutch in both his arms. He hoped simply running into the other guy wasn't bothering him. He glanced in the direction he'd been headed, back to Ast-Okto, before grinning slightly sheepishly and shrugging a little. Might as well not be rude.

"Duo, right?" Having a memory like the Legionnaire did came in handy. "We met a while ago... I'm Lyle." If he recalled, Duo showed up a lot on PDA posts his friends had made. Mutual friends, no doubt. So what was the other teen doing walking around at this hour? Especially with cuffs gone. "...You headed somewhere?" Lyle asked finally, grinning, trying to make small talk as not-awkwardly as possible.

"Yeaaah.. That's me." Duo said, puffing air out of his nose. "As for where I'm going? Probably no where pleasant." He shoved his hands in his pockets, walking down back towards Sor, where he'd probably just catch the last of that stupid meeting.
