Characters: AU!Sheifa, AU!Albel and AU!Fayt.
Where: Somewhere outside, and then back to Dor-Enas maybe?
When: Right after
this encounter with Yelan.
Summary: Albel and Fayt head out to look for Sheifa, who they feared got herself in trouble. They were right.
Warnings: The obligatory angst for this ship.
She came so close. Too close, in fact. It had been a feeling that was all too familiar for her, the feeling of nothingness and cold calm. And in those few moments, Sheifa had been devoid of emotion and humanity. She had become Brynhildr, the ghost of her past, the sword proudly brandished by her blood family.
Yelan had known she'd won. But she, too, had known that she didn't stand a chance against the monster she'd turned her own daughter into. Odin was getting old, even though she hated to admit it. She was the dying fire. But Brynhildr was young and promising, cold and calculating, emotionless and brutal. Coupled with her newfound skills in the art of runology, she was truly a force to reckon with, the living weapon of the Li clan.
"Strike me down," Yelan had urged, "and Brynhildr shall live again."
But she didn't. She'd stopped, merely seconds away from making the final strike.
And now she stood out there, alone. Unharmed, but broken. Defeated.
