[Thread] Death destroys a man...

Characters: AU!Yelan and AU!Sheifa.
Where: An empty lot.
When: Sometime during stage 3 of the mod plot, after this post.
Summary: Sheifa finds Selphie coma'd and blames Yelan for it. Yelan thinks it's the perfect opportunity to win back her daughter to the dark side her side.
Warnings: A murder attempt and a bucketful of angst.

It won't be long for Sheifa to arrive, Yelan thought. What a wonderful opportunity it really was, and she had not exerted much effort on it too. It seemed that the place where they are at was on her side. And thinking of it, she couldn't help but be glad at the turn of events and soon everything will be in place for her plan. The Sheifa now will be gone and her Brynhildr will be here again.

Just because she specialized in support symbology didn't mean that Sheifa didn't know the other basic symbols. She'd spotted Yelan already from afar and had begun casting a spell, just in time to launch it at her when she was close enough.

"Fire Bolt!"

Yelan saw the fire bolt approaching her yet without a single drop of sweat she took her fan that served as her shield, deflecting the beam of light that approached her. Even though Yelan was not that young anymore but her skill were more improved.

"What a wonderful present you have there. To petty it wasn't good enough." She said. Though she was a bit surprised, for in their clan it's only her (Yelan) who is capable of using magic. How come her daughter now know how to use such but seeing that, it was more stimulating that her Brynhildr became stronger than expected. And what a wonderful thought it was.

"Oh, I wasn't planning to kill you with that. I'm going to tear you apart with my bare hands." She drew out her dagger, the very same one Yelan had given to her as her inheritance. "And plunge this right through your heart."

Sheifa slid into a fighting stance, which was ironically the same to Yelan's own. After all, she'd been trained by no less than the woman herself. It was her right as the first born child. "Shall we?"

"Oh, well that's good to hear, I was afraid that your abilities are rusted and what a shame it would be." Seeing the stance that Sheifa took, made her smile a bit plus the dagger that she gave him and soon all will be the same as before again.

"Glad too.." She mocked while taking the same stance as Sheifa's.

Yelan would've had little to react; Sheifa didn't wait for her to finish before lunging at her. However, having been training partners for so long, it was easy for Yelan to predict her moves, and matched them without trouble. In skill they were almost equals, although at the moment it was hard to tell who was getting the upper hand.

Her dagger clashed with blades of steel, and Sheifa gritted her teeth. Yelan was good, more so without the cuffs. She'll have to change tactics, to a fighting style the other woman had never seen before.

Yelan defended herself with ease. You could say that she fought without a single drop of sweat. "You're still predictable Brynhildr.." She mocked amidst their fight. "I know you too well.." She added.

But what was to come she did not know.

[sheifa]

That was the problem. But one that was easily solved.

She pushed Yelan back before backflipping, widening the distance between them. Symbology took time to cast, and without Albel to run interference, she put herself at risk. But there was a slight chance that she'd want to see what she could do. Perhaps showing off would do the trick.

"Oh yeah? Watch this." And Sheifa began chanting something.

Yelan wondered a bit what Sheifa's about to do. She hadn't seen that before yet she must still act confident. A loser shows that he/she's afraid but not her, losing is not on her vocabulary. "Okay, let's see it then.." She challenge.

While waiting for Sheifa's attack, she herself prepared for a counter measure. Slowly she started with her dark magic, accumulating enough force for her to use in this battle.

Yelan was waiting. Good.

Time to show her something new.

"Earth Glaive!" Sheifa cast, and spikes shot out from beneath the ground where Yelan stood. She knew her mother wasn't stupid enough to actually get caught in them, but that gave her the time she needed to prepare her next attack.

Dagger in hand, she moved forward, preparing for her second strike.

Yelan was quick to respond, she was able to avoid the spikes as well as the magic that Sheifa used to attack her. Pretty clever, she thought. "You really are my child.." She mocked and just as she was in mid-sentence she noticed Sheifa was coming at her again.

She wasn't planning to attack just yet, she was quite interested on the improvements of Sheifa.
