Orihime was scared. She didn't really know what Hao was planning, but she went back to her own apartment and changed into her Shinigami Academy robes. She debated on not going to the park, but she wasn't sure just what else she could do. He would be able to find her no matter where she was in the compound and she didn't want to have to deal with that. She knew that her strength was no where near his.

She should probably talk to Uryuu before she left...but she decided to leave the Quincy alone for now and see what Hao was planning herself. Gathering up her courage and her Zanpakuto, she headed out to the park.

Inoue was coming. He could sense her fear before she had even presented herself a few moments later. Offering her a warm, innocuous smile, he hoped it would ebb away some of the anxiety she felt. Although it seemed like a kind gesture - something he rarely expressed - he actually hated that sensation of horror creeping through his skin.

"Hello, Inoue," he greeted, sounding as cheerful as he looked. "I'm surprised to know that you were willing to come."

She nodded to Hao. "Hello." She said, giving him a slight smile. She tried to calm herself down as she held her sword in her hand. She could feel the power that it could unleash, if only she could find out it's name. She didn't know how to find out it's name, but she was determined to find it out eventually. She knew it could take hundreds of years and she was willing to train for that long if she had to.

Determination. That was a refreshing difference from the previous - and current - anxiety running through her. Not to mention, it was still rather admirable to see just what courage she held. It even reminded him of Anna a little, with the exception that he was able to pick up her emotions and thoughts.

"Out of curiousity," he began, cordially, "why do you think I have asked the strongest to gather together here?"

"You wish to find the strongest to help you attain a goal." She said, managing to keep her voice even. She wasn't exactly sure, but it seemed logical to her. "I am not the strongest, but you also invited me as well." She added. She still wasn't quite sure why she came.

"True, you are not the strongest," Hao agreed, amiably, "but you have the potential to be one. Your determination...your courage...your temerity...it's all so very commendable." A slight frown crossed his lips, as if taking a moment to think. "You're also rather clever, capable of drawing in other facts before making a decision. You don't exactly jump to conclusions, nor do you rush ahead recklessly. Those are all qualities that I like." He gave a small chuckle. "The only thing is...you don't seem like the type of person who'd agree with my goal." It was true. Part of her reminded him of Yoh - behaving ever so kindly and politely, even when they didn't feel like it. However, that would mean she'd detest his objective as well.

"So, before I tell you just what I want...let me ask you something. Have you ever felt...different from others? And have others ever pointed this out, negatively?"

She was indeed polite most of the time. It was just in her nature. "I've always been a bit different, but everyone just took it as a part of who I am. No one really talked bad about it. Though I was called a spazz and airhead a lot. I guess I was when I think about it." She did spazz out a lot when she was still alive, but she really didn't remember anyone being negative about it.

Things changed once she had died though. She grew up a bit more and didn't spazz as much.

That was another similar aspect to his sibling. The acceptance of the way things flowed, no matter how negative it was. "Mm...in my world, shamans like me...are treated differently," he said, slight melancholy tainting his smile. "And for what reason? Because we are stronger than a regular human. To them, that is not normal, and they fear it. They believe that person is a monster - a demon even - and wish to harm them." He gave yet another chuckle, only this time, it held a faint trace of sadness.

"Of course, the same goes for weaker shamans. They grow afraid of someone stronger, and, thinking they are a monster as well, also wish to kill them. Thus, my goal is this - to create equality by having only the strong survive."

"Everyone is afraid of what they really don't understand. Strength does scare a lot of people." She was afraid of Hao, but she was dealing with her fears. "And the weak are afraid of the strong because it is the strong ones that have the potential to destroy the weak." She didn't like the way that this was going.

"Having only the strong survive?" Her eyes widened a bit. She didn't like the idea of killing people weaker than herself. She wanted to help people, not kill them.

Hao gave a slight nod. "Yes, that is my goal." He tilted his head slightly. "Heh, I can tell the idea does not appeal to you. But if there should ever be hope for equality, then everyone must be equal in strength. This way, no one will ever have to suffer from discrimination or any sort of resentment again." He glanced away from her, letting his gaze settle on the multitude of trees in the scenery.

"You do not have to aid me...but I must warn you that trying to stop me is not only futile, but foolish." On uttering his last word, a small frown tugged at his lips, not too fond of the idea of another - especially one with so much potential - wanting to halt his objective.

"There will always be someone who is stronger than someone else. No matter who survives there will just be more killing. Everyone will try to become stronger than everyone around them." She said. She gripped her zanpakuto a bit harder, her knuckles going white for a moment as she resisted the urge to do something foolish right now. She couldn't stand a chance against him. With the cuffs on she had a chance of surviving, but now that they were gone, she didn't.

She had other things to worry about as well. There was still Szayell-Aporro to deal with. Now that the cuff was gone, the Arrancar would be after souls. "I will not aid you. I made a promise to myself after dying that I would help people."

She wanted to attack him. It was a bit of a disappointment that she did not. "If everyone's strengths are equal...why should there ever be a need for more?" he inquired, tilting his head to the side questioningly. "For instance, I have all the power I could ever want, and more than I'd like. So when everyone's skills are equivalent to mines, they should feel the same." He glanced back at her, his gaze slowly taveling from her weapon to her hands that were resisting the urge to strike out against him.

"So are you intending to get in my way?" His smile had vanished, his eyes flickering with what seemed like a warning.

"People are greedy. There are some who always want more. More money, more power....anything." She said. She didn't strike out at him, no, she couldn't. She would just end up dead...again and this time she would stay that way. "I can't let you kill people here, but I know I can't fight you and win." She said. She still had other things to worry about. She had to make sure Uryuu was safe from Szayel.

People were indeed greedy. That's why he despised humans, liking only shamans. Although, in this compound, there were other races to consider. "Then what are you intending to do about this?" Hao inquired, promptly. "If you won't fight me, nor can you convince me with your words...what other option do you have?"

She looked down for a moment before looking up at Hao. "I do not know. I can't fight you and win, and I can't convince you to not kill anyone. I won't join you, not without being forced, and I can't stand idly by and let people get killed." She was in a pinch, she could try and fight him, but that would only end in her death...or rather, her second death, or would this make it third?

The reishi could sense her indecision, her uncertainity on how to deal with the matter. Giving a bemused chuckle, he replied, "I will not force you to join, and, so long as you do not hinder me, I will not kill you. However, that is a desire you now hold...is it not?" He did not wait for her to reply, as she had already expressed her wise to stop his endeavor ( ... )
