Ying Fa stirred from beneath him. Her head hurt and she was still in a daze, but not for long. It suddenly came coming back to her - the running, the destruction, their untimely deaths. But she was... alive? And Xiao Lang was-

She gasped in realization, and quickly tried to maneuver herself from underneath her husband. When she finally did, she took him into her arms, a strange mix of emotions flashing on her face. There he was, but... was he...? "Xiao Lang?" she cradled him, tears starting to fill her green eyes. "W-Wake up... please..." No, he couldn't be dead, he couldn't be! It wasn't possible! "You can't... you can't die...! I love you, please, open your eyes!" she cried out, a little hysterically now, before hugging him tightly. This couldn't be real. He couldn't be dead...

He had heard her. Her voice was distant at first but is steadily became clearer. By the time she became hysterical Xiao Lang was coming to.

When he woke up Xiao Lang blinked a few times realizing she was holding him tightly. He reached up and gripped her arm. "Don't cry." He winced. God, he had such a headache, actually his whole body ached. His mind couldn't make sense of it, he shouldn't be able to feel. After everything that happened he should be dead.

He was... he was alive! She couldn't be happier. She had no idea what had happened, or why they were even alive after that, but she didn't care. All that mattered was that he was alright. "Xiao Lang..." She looked at him for a moment, tears still falling from her green eyes, before hugging him again. "I was... I was so scared..."

"It's alright..." He let her hold him like that for a while. Even awkwardly putting an arm around her. "...so was I." He admitted in a whisper.

"I don't understand what happened, though," she said quietly after a moment, almost hesitantly. "I really thought that we were..." She stopped herself before she could say any more. It was painful.

She didn't have to finish that thought. "I know..." Xiao Lang said as he pushed himself up so he could look at her more on level. "But you're alright, right?"

She nodded slowly, but she was clearly shaken by what happened. She struggled not to cry, although it showed on her face that she was just about to break down.

He reached out and laid a hand lightly against her cheek. "It's alright if you need to cry..." he told her.
