It didn't matter that it was cold out that night, Persephone had decked herself out in clothing fitting of her world, with the exception of the cloak and satchel (which was filled with seeds of various sorts and other necessary supplies requisitioned from the other residents). The goddess probably presented an odd sight, sun lamp cradled in her arms and shining into her face, moving down the street and trying not to let the fear show in her steps, feigning an air of haughtiness and pride.
No matter how many times she boasted that the Entropi didn't scare her, the thought they could be coming, the way the flowers were buzzing, that she could be in danger, her friends could die... Not knowing what to expect was awful on this level that was making her physically sick.
Over and over again in her head, Persephone scolded herself. She was a goddess, right? If anything, she could protect her friends, couldn't she? John was right -- she couldn't let fear control her, but it was getting harder to quell at it this point.
