Summary:
A frustrated Kunzite needs to make Mercury remember him and is rapidly running out of time to do it in. He tries something creative. However, these two can make even a kiss to wake the sleeping girl... not a tender fairy

Oh, had she irritated him? Mercury gave Kunzite barely a glance before half rolling her eyes and looking back to her book. She turned a page, as if he wasn't standing right there.

"Is looming over me a way to prevent that?" she asked pertly. The question was obviously rhetorical.

Mercury had been, oddly, more or less obedient. She fulfilled most of his basic orders (or requests) and knew perfectly well when to ask (that other Kunzite she so clearly thought this one to be) for approval before doing something on her own, such as her meeting with the Princess Mercury. It came at the price of the nearly insufferable attitude.

She gave him a little smirk, and then the expression changed completely and immediately to one that would have suited a viper about to strike. There was nothing in between. If Kunzite hadn't already had her wrists, it was obvious Mercury would have struck him. She turned her face angrily, defiantly, but he he turned it back and his lips found hers. It seemed to infuriate her even more. Her eyes widened, her jaw tightened.

Then it changed.

Why... did it seem familiar? Why did she feel as though he'd done this before? It was warm, very warm this close to each other and that felt nostalgic, too. Warmth between them, and a rough kiss; these were Kunzite, too?

She looked up at him, and the hostility was wholly wiped from her face in favor of confusion and uncertainty.

It was as if each kiss brought back a strange memory she didn't know she had, making it unthinkable to resist. There was someone who hadn't been gentle but who'd built her up. Someone she never wanted to see hurt. Someone she had the same goals as. Someone who made her feel worth something.

There was someone who looked for her, someone who told her she was worth kindness and consideration. Someone who knew her so well. Someone who made her feel human again, who made her feel happy. Someone who was...

He was right in front of her eyes.

"Kunzite..." Mercury tried to move her hands again now, wanting to wrap her arms around him and pull him even closer. How could she have forgotten?
