Having managed to find the appropriate equipment and protective gear, Derek hurried down to Mui-Dyo to check on Fluorite as quickly as he could. If he really had tuberculosis--and that could take some time to verify, since the testing methods he knew of took a while.
Maybe it wasn't a threat to the entire population--only a fraction of those infected would normally develop the disease, and with the variety of different species and the different worlds they came from it already was an anomaly of sorts that nobody had spread an indigenous disease to everybody else to the point he was starting to wonder if there was something being done to them upon arrival to protect against such occurrences. Still, he had no proof something like that was going on and he certainly wouldn't depend on the idea. If there was any risk of infection to anybody else, he had to minimize it as much as possible.
Reaching the room, he knocked on the door, hoping for the best. "Excuse me?" he called. "This is Doctor Stiles here. I'm here to check on your condition!"
