Now that things had (more or less) returned to normal with everyone wearing their own faces and bodies, Jing wanted to get this council underway before the next thing struck. Especially since the next thing, for all they knew, would be the Keepers showing up on their doorstep. So he made an announcement on the messengers and asked everyone to ( Read more... )

Oh boy. Public speaking? So not Rumor's thing. That was reserved more for Spaceboy (but that's only if public speaking was synonymous with punching villains) or Violin who had more eloquence in her little finger than the rest of the team combined. Which wasn't saying a whole lot for the rest of the team, unfortunately.

Still. A Rumor had to do what a Rumor had to do. The hero hadn't even bothered to prepare a speech, preferring to go in by the seat of her pants, standing near the stage and waiting to be flagged up for her turn.

"Gonna make a speech there, Bird?" Sawyer called cheerfully from where he sat in the audience, feet propped up on the seat in front of him, arms folded across his chest, sarcastic expression on his face. Obviously he could care less about manners or interrupting the meeting. "Hell, this thing can't get any more boring, right?"

As cool as she thought Sawyer was, there was no way in hell she was going to take shit from him, especially not tonight. "Yeah, I am. You gonna shut up and listen or am I going to make you have to?" Rumor snapped, fidgeting with one of her gloves and resisting the urge to flip him the bird. She'd show him a bird alright.

After a moment's hesitation, the teen made her way onto the stage, heading straight for the podium and looking out at all of the people. That was a lot of people. Like, really. A lot. She cleared her throat, waiting -- not entirely sure for what, but it seemed appropriate. Build suspense.

Sawyer just smirked. He'd been in prison once before and as far as he was concerned that was all this place really was. He could hardly care less about what sort of government the other residents decided to set up. It wasn't like it was going to be able to do anything, after all. Just pretend to have power when everyone knew the Warden pulled all the strings. He was only here to heckle and be a jerk, not because he had any useful input or could bring himself to care about what happened in the end.

"Calm down, cupcake," He replied snarkily. "You wanna try an' make me be quiet, go ahead. Or stop wastin' your time and say what you gotta. Can't wait to here it, personally."
