Dani knew she shouldn't blame herself. At least, she logically wouldn't have before, but since coming here after everything happened. It was...it was all getting to her. She couldn't even sleep without everything flooding her mind. She hadn't gotten any decent sleep since she ARRIVED!

And now she had gone and attacked Danny. She knew she wouldn't want to normally, but she still did it. And it made her feel even worse than she had been.

She knocked on Morty's door, waiting for him to open it. Maybe talking to Morty would help.

Morty had half-expected Dani to phase in, but figured she was probably just being polite. "Hi, Dani," he said quietly, opening the door.

"Hey." Dani said, sounding tired and quiet, stepping inside. "Thanks for letting me come over."

Morty smiled softly. "Don't mention it. You're my friend, after all."

Dani smiled weakly. "Yeah..." She said and paused. "I'm glad I didn't end up doing anything to you..."

"That's because I tend to go and hide when I hear about people randomly attacking others." The words were out of his mouth before it occurred to Morty that they might not be the right thing to say.

"...that's a good policy." Dani said, sitting down on the couch. "...not a lot of people got warning about me though..."

Morty sighed. "Dani..."

"When I thought they were here..." Dani started before Morty could say something else. "I was...so happy. I got to see...all of the pople I felt I failed alive and happy and again. Even when you said you couldn't see them, I didn't want to believe they weren't there. It...hurt too much to think that."

"I don't know if whoever did that was trying to make people happy or hurt them," Morty said distantly. "If it was the latter, they certainly did a good job."

[halfa_clone]

"To those like me...with something like that as a hope...it hurt more than any good it did." Dani said.

"What makes you think it wasn't that bad for everyone?" Morty replied, a bit more coldly than he'd meant to.

[halfa_clone]

"You'll go home one day Morty. Most of those people...I really will never see again." Dani said quietly, staring at the floor.

"Dani..." Morty sat down next to her and put a hand on her shoulder, not saying anything else.

Dani was silent for a minute. "I...can't seem to stop thinking about it..." She whispered.

On an impulse, Morty hugged her. She certainly looked like she needed it.
