Mod: ... You call that a warning?
Me: ... it's all I had to work with?
Mahaado left already knowing his spells were useless, but he didn't want Kaylee to know how severe the situation was. Why was the Young Master calling for a Shadow Game? Did Mahaado do something wrong to earn such a steep punishment? He only realized in that moment standing under the sky he was doomed, there was no specified area to look. All of the compound was open to the Young Master and in two hours? He was taller then before...
As hopeless as it was, he had to at least try and find the Young Master.
Everywhere he looked was sin. Sin, and darkness. Every soul had it, even the most innocent among them had a bit. Not even Mahaado was pure. After all, he was the pharaoh's protector. Now where was the pharaoh? Upon returning home, he'd be dead. And Mahaado failed. So he had to be punished too.
Yugi, was in the park. In a tree, to be exact, but that's not where Mahaado would look. In the realm of the shadow game that Mahaado could see, there were would be dozens of pots all around the park. Of course, not all would just be empty. A few had some...penalties in them. Open the wrong pot, time could pass where Mahaado didn't realize it, he might be moved to another area that'd he'd lose track of where he's been, and a few even had a few...monsters in them. Weak and only one attack, but it'd be enough to put a bit of a scare into the priest. Hopefully, anyway.
Pots, pots and more pots... If the cause had been better he would have been amused more then worried. Instead he quietly lifted up the lid of one pot while casting a spell to remove the lids on all the pots all at once. But as he peered inside something jumped out, biting him on the arm startling him. He yanked his attacked limb back as several others came at him.
Battle instincts made him cast 'Dark Magic Attack' since that spell could be directed strictly at the monsters. He gripped his wounded arm as he moved along to another pot.
Yugi was amused as he watched Mahaado from his perch, but that was too simple. It was his game realm, after all and all the pot lids flew back onto their pots, redoing the spells. It wouldn't really be cheating, after all. It was up to Mahaado to decide where to look and it was his own fault for assuming that's where he was.
The mind said he was wounded, and so he kept his hand on his arm. Another pot sent his senses reeling, unable to stand up on his own, he staggered into another set of pots as precious moments ticked away. He saw something, snakeish begin to slither out of one of the pots, an illusion that he could no longer tell. Not in a shadow game where he was the target. He cast a thousand knives, not realizing the illusion until the spell unable to find the 'snake' shattered many of the pots around him.
The cuff triggered with that spell causing a surge of power through him, setting his senses aflame and keeping him on the ground. Yet even though he was stunned a thought still pierced through the pain he was in...
And Mahaado grew horrified. "Young Master? Oh gods forgive me.... Young Master Yugi!" He called out no longer focused on the game, instead worrying that he just accidentally killed his master.
Yugi smirked. Ah, perhaps a little less punishment. He had the tendency to at least appear like he was worried, but he was still losing this game.
"Young Master Yugi... Please I'll surrender the game, I'll take the punishment, just tell me you are unhurt!" he called out as he used the pots to move amongst them. Still checking pots, hoping to find the Young Master the same way. It never occurred to him that the Young Master would hide anywhere else.
Yugi shook his head. He gave up too easily. "Are you sure you wish to forfeit, Mahaado?" Yugi asked. A bit of magic made it easy to make it seem like his voice was all around Mahaado.
"I...." He slumped against a pot his eyes shut in relief. "Young Master Yugi is safe? If I have not harmed you and you wish to carry on, then I shall... I was just afraid that I had killed you by accident." He called out, the relief he felt in his tone.
"Death is only a possibility for the loser in these games, Mahaado. And even if the game was that serious, the cuff would not allow it." Yugi said. "Keep going. It's still entertaining.
'Master must be near by to see what is going on here... But... Where...' He had to be able to see what was going on... was he even in the pots or outside them... somewhere else? He tried to see beyond the pots, but his vision was still hazy from the cuff. "The Prince loved to hide in the pots, he and Mana... Was always such a game, that I always lost..." He smiled not aware he was speaking aloud. He summoned up his spell book, banishing it just as swiftly to try and neutralize the cuff's affect on him. As he moved along to the next pot.
ATEM liked to hide in the pots with Mana, but Yugi wasn't Atem. No, Yugi was someone else. Mahaado would have to learn that as well.
'At least Set isn't here to grind my failure into my face like usual.' he thought as he lifted up a pot lid only to find himself somewhere else... "What?" He looked about feeling like a victim of a swap spell. He looked up to rub his eyes when he saw a faint glimpse of red. Was that the Young Master? But... if the Young Master wanted him to go through this what else could he do? Lowering his eyes he resumed back to the pots.
Yugi raised an eyebrow. What was that? Mahaado has paused for a moment, looking in his direction. Did he see him? It was hard to be sure. For now, Yugi would wait and see. There would be a tell if he noticed. He'd glance more in his direction or something of the like.
"Please Young Master Yugi, do not destroy my card." He spoke, almost randomly as he moved about deciding to give the game to his Young Master instead. He couldn't fight him after all, the Pharaoh had put his trust in...
"Young Master? Am I.... is this about the Seal?" He asked softly into the air as he moved about.
"I will not destroy your card and no, this is not about the seal at all. This is for something you did here, Mahaado. Or rather...something you didn't do." Yugi said. Destroy his card. Almost tempting, but it was likely the cuff would not allow ti.
"Something I did?" He repeated when it clicked, the Pharaoh. "Young Master, He and I are both dead, we do not belong in the living world. If he was sent back to his proper rest, how I can I deny that?" He asked as he opened another pot and POOF into another new location. Drat...
"You're supposed to protect. He was alive here." Yugi said. It was a rather simple concept.
"Protect him from what? I can not change history, as much as it pains me all I can do is what is allowed as a monster. If I am not summoned then I am unable to do anything." He pointed out his head lowered and he no longer sought out the pots.
"Atem was here when you were here! You should have done something! You're the one who can control the magic!" Yugi said angrily.
"You are so like Pharaoh's cousin.... I obey Pharaoh, and I obey Master. If I have already been judged then so be it I will not speak against Master's belief." He finally stated as he lifted up another pot lid. He wasn't really looking anymore as much as just doing it for show.
"Perhaps Kaiba has the right idea then." Yugi said. He'd watch Mahaado for the game to finish, ready for any tricks he might pull.
Mahaado sighed as he thought about before turning towards the tree he had seen his young master in. Getting down on both knees, he removed his headdress and bowed like any commoner towards his master. Waiting for his punishment to be unleashed. There was no hope of saving his master from whatever affected him. "I am nothing against a God's power." He finally stated.
"....and you forfeit the game?" Yugi asked. Interesting.
"Yes," he replied in submission. "Pass your judgment upon me Master Yugi."
Yugi thought for a moment before he jumped out of the tree, walking over to Mahaado. "Even when you knew where I was, you chose to lose?"
"Yes, Master." He replied dutifully. He didn't look up, but could hear Yugi walking closer.
Yugi stopped in front of him. "There's still a penalty for losing, Mahaado." He said, pulling out the Dark Magician card.
"I am aware of that Master." he replied, wondering how he was going to explain to Kaylee what happened to him.
"You failed as a servant. So perhaps we should fix that. Perhaps...take away your will to relax?" Yugi asked, a smirk crossing his face.
"As master orders..." he replied wondering how that would be a punishment, he had yet to relax since he arrived really. Formality always being the first thing he showed.
Yugi held up the card and closed his eyes. Then he began the summoning.
Mahaado swallowed sensing that he was being summoned he desperately casted the teleportation spell, hoping they could forgive the sudden event. Once the spell was gone, he surrendered to his Masters will and reverted back into the Dark Magician. Though his armor held a tint of red and Mahaado's eyes held a tint of unfocused madness to them.
Yugi smirked up at the Dark Magician. "Good. Now, let's go. We must find the others with the darkness in their souls." He said.
He hovered behind his Master, staff in hand and a murderous gleam in his eye. A reflection of the mind that summoned him back into the world like this. There would be chaos tonight.
